Apparently, what Cane said to Lou seemed to have left the merchant with a lot to think about. He immediately went back to the palace to think over the matter thoroughly. He didn't join them for dinner.

It was not like his presence was expected either, thus no one asked why he was not there.

As such, the dinner proceeded in the dining room just like the last time, with no change in their sitting positions whatsoever, as Cane sat on Prince Kellan's right side while Iris settled beside him.

From the corner of his eye, he could see how uncomfortable Iris was to be close to the Prince. She looked like she was going to flee at any moment, yet Cane did nothing. His eyes flickered with a complicated look.
