The famine in the five packs was pretty bad. People in these packs had to lose their family members from lack of food during winter and now when the ground was warm enough, they could finally bury them. Even so, the problem with the food had not yet been solved.
Their only hope was to start hunting in the Goffa mountain, taking the risk to meet the monsters and be killed by the creatures. Their options were so limited.
Therefore, when they saw carriages full of food, their eyes lit up and even though Iris couldn't hear what they whispered to one another, she could see their eyes filled with hope and their desire to have their hands on nice food, feed their children and old members of their families.
"If you want to get food, make two lines here! We will distribute the food evenly, you are not allowed to take food twice!" Oliver said in a loud voice to the crowd.
