As usual, Cane didn't waste any time by talking in a roundabout manner. He didn't even let Koda get angry at him first because he had been neglecting his duty for two days, as Iris was sick.
On the other hand, Koda narrowed his eyes, his lips pressed into a thin line. "Do you want to say I didn't actively get involved enough?"
"Yes."
Koda was stunned by the bluntness that Cane showed to him. Shouldn't he be apologetic for how he handled the situation? He should beg for his forgiveness! Not only did he ignore the King's order of going back to the palace, but he actually had the audacity to say he didn't contribute in this case!
