Chapter 4 - QUEEN BELRI

QUEEN BELRI

The beloved wife of the King of the Western Region was longing for the touch of her beloved king as she lay in bed underneath the covers, trying to feel the warmth that was left on the cushion of their bed. She smiled warmly in her sleep as Belri held onto her King Husband's pillow. Belri was sleeping peacefully in her bed, then suddenly their chamber door opened, emitting a large BANG!

"M'lady!" A messenger barged in, the messenger was a man of average height announced as Lady Belri jolted up from the bed startled and confused, gripping the sheets and covering herself with them.

"What is it?!" Lady Belri screamed out, "Tell me what it is that you want this instant!" She commanded the messenger.

"I'm sorry, m'lady, but there's a letter addressed to you, m'lady." The man explained as he stood there by the doorway, Lady Belri gestured to the Messenger to close the door as he gave the letter that was addressed to her. The envelope had a scarlet-esque color on its edges and a stamp on the seal. It had the sigil of House Vonnegut on it, a bald eagle with its prey in its beak. The stamp was purple with a tinge of white wax on it. Lady Belri ripped the seal open and unfolded the letter that was inside and it read:

Addressed to Lady Belri of House Cascall

A Dead King is as good as dead, isn't it, m'lady? I love the way your "king" squeals when we remove each one of his fingernails day by day, and at this rate, we might even reach his toenails! But don't worry m'lady, we give him a day to rest from this pain, a week perhaps, before we start removing his fingernails on his right hand next. Hell, we might even start flaying him if he disobeys. Here is proof that your "king" is with us.

 Signed, Lord Vonnegut

Lady Belri unfolded the letter once more as her husband's skin fell onto the bedsheets, causing the consort to scream in terror, her husband's fingernails fell onto the mattress. Her tears fell onto the mattress as she cursed the skies for the cruelty that was being done onto her beloved king.
