Chapter 59 - Daddy i am die !

Alexandre then returned to the Pip-Boy's main menu and clicked on "Inspection Mode." Some text appeared: "Focus on object to inspect."

What exactly did that mean? Alexandre didn't remember seeing a visual sensor or lens on the outside of the Pip-Boy… but then he remembered that when he'd scanned the professor, the Aurora system had responded to him looking at the man himself. Alexandre looked over at the armored door which locked the medical room, and finally text appeared on the Pip-Boy's screen.

Alexandre was astonished! 25,000 HP sure sounded like a lot. He wondered exactly how this number was calculated.

Eager to experiment, Alexandre positioned the Pip-Boy just inside his field of vision and looked around the room, scanning every object from his bed to the toilet to the compartment panels on the walls. The Aurora system identified each and every object. 'This will be very useful in a hostile environment,' Alexandre thought. 'If I end up in a Black Zone, I bet this will help me identify objects I should stay far away from.'

The Pip-Boy and Aurora system seemed very complicated and like they had a hundred details which were necessary to use them effectively. That meant Alexandre would need some proper training to use them, which annoyed him.

But even as he was thinking about all these things, But while he was thinking about all these things, Alexander was surprised to realise that he was feeling very tired, it had been more than a week since he had been through a series of intense ordeals and serious injuries, so he needed energy. Even though Alexander didn't want to sleep in this cell that brought back horrible memories, he decided to bend to his body's will and close his eyes for a few seconds.

Alexandre's eyes snapped open as a loud sound altered him. He sat up quickly in bed, staring through the glass to see the young woman in the room across from him. She was convulsing and white foam was dripping from her mouth. An alarm blared urgently at her door.

A white-coated nurse quickly arrived, glanced over the vital readings, and spoke into his phone, "I've got a Code 845 in Ward 147. I need you to flood the room with nitrous oxide and send me a security unit!"

The young woman's convulsions intensified. She vomited dark blood and fell off the bed, screaming in agony.

Soon, Alexandre could see the signs of condensing vapor dispensing from the room's ceiling—the nitrous oxide which the doctor had ordered. This seemed to calm the woman down and stop her screaming.

Two men in riot gear arrived. The nurse said to them, "The sensors are useless in this state. I need to go into the room and take her pulse directly. You go in first and then standby."

One of the security officers said, "That's against protocol! You have to wait an hour before entering the room!"

The nurse snapped, "We've already lost two patients today! And we'll be in big trouble if we lose a third. Don't worry, the gas has completely neutralized her." The nurse put on a gas mask, then pulled out his magnetic card and unlocked the door.

There was an audible hiss as the pressurized gas escaped, at which point the two security officers hesitantly entered the room and poked the young woman on the floor. "She's unconscious!" one of the officers said. "You can come in now!"

The nurse entered the room and crouched down, inspecting the young woman carefully. "I can't feel her pulse!" he said, then extended his arms to begin chest compressions.

In a flash, the "dead" patient snatched the nurse's arm and sunk her teeth into his arm, tearing his flesh to bloody shreds.
