Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 5

---Riley POV ---

The dinner was incredibly delicious but the company made it even more wonderful. We finished our meal and I cleaned up then led her to the living room couch. I brought over some more wine and poured her a glass and sat next to her. I was itching to run my hand through her soft blonde hair. Her lips were looking kissable every second that passed.

"What movie do you want to watch? I have a few options, we can watch Harry Potter, Resident evil or Lost girl." I suggested

"I don't mind. We can watch anything." She said sweetly.

I finally decided on Harry Potter. Despite it being my favourite movie of all time, I could barely concentrate. All I could think about was the beautiful woman next to me and all the things I was craving. My throat was so dry, my palms were sweating and the only thing remotely capable of quenching my thirst was the lips of the beautiful woman beside me. I turned to look at her completely enchanted, her cheeks were slightly flushed from the wine and her eyes glazed over with lust. I slowly leaned over biting my lower lip nervously and for the second time today, the world ceased to exist. Only this moment between us mattered. Sparks flew whenever we touched, it was the most magical experience of my life.

Our moment was ruined by the ringing of my phone. I cursed internally at the interruption but checked my phone anyway. Blake's name flashed through the screen, he knew how important tonight was and wouldn't call for no reason.

"I am so sorry, I have to take this."

"It's alright. "

I picked up the call and the news I heard sent a shiver through my bones. "Donnie is in the hospital dude. He says he got mugged and they beat him up pretty badly." Blake said in a panicked voice.

"Hold on a second I am on my way," I said. Donnie was my brother, and I would be there for him through anything. It's a shame I have to leave Ruby here but my brother is important to me.

"My friend Donnie is in the hospital. I have to go over there right now." I was panicking and pacing around. I didn't know how badly he was hurt and that was freaking me out even more. I couldn't lose any part of my family. I have already lost too many people in my life, I don't think I can handle any more loss.

"Hey, calm down." A sweet soothing voice rang in my ear. Two soft small hands cupped my face and all my attention went to those electric blue eyes. " I know you are scared but everything will be fine. I will go with you to the hospital because you can't drive like this. So take a deep breath and get your car keys." I took a few deep breaths then went to get the keys. It only took us about half an hour before we got to the hospital.

We rushed through the doors and found Blake waiting for us in the reception area, he led us through to his room.

He looked terrible, his right hand and left leg were both in a cast, his face was all swollen and I could tell that he has more injuries. Tears pooled in my eyes, he was always the strong one between us and seeing him so vulnerable was breaking my heart. A sob broke free from my lips as tears poured down my face. Arms wrapped around me in an attempt to soothe me. I hugged Ruby with desperation, I buried my face in the crook of her neck and sobbed.

I calmed down enough to ask Blake about what happened. "He called me a few hours ago and told me he was mugged. I found him in the alley behind the club, he was in really bad shape. I rushed him here. We have to wait for him to wake up before we know anything. He has two broken bones on top of his broken arm and leg. He also has some swelling in his brain so the doctors had to put him in an induced coma."

"Why would they do this to him? Donnie is a nice person, everybody loves him. We have to let the cops know, they have to get the guy that did this." I said, finally calming down.

"He said no cops. What doesn't make sense, is how some common thug could do this to him. Donnie has a black belt in both Karate and Taekwondo. He can't lose against a normal thief. Even if he was ambushed, he should have still won. I hope to God he is not caught up in anything. " Blake's face was twisted in a worried frown. His concerns were truly valid and I couldn't help but be even more worried. We worked so hard to be where we are today and to think that our brother was caught in anything illegal would be more than just heartbreaking.

"Donnie would never do that," I insisted." Let us wait for him to wake up first before jumping to any conclusions. I trust this man with my life, the same way I trust you Blake and I know he would never do anything to ruin what we have. Whatever it is we will get to the bottom of it together."

It took two weeks for the swelling in his brain to go down. Blake and I both took turns looking after the club while Donnie was down. That club is his life and I don't know what he would do if it ever went under. It was easy to handle the club's business because the manager was a very competent person. I barely had to do anything which made things so much easier. Ruby and I hung out a few times after and it was just as amazing. I wanted to ravish her so badly but now was not the time for that and I am glad she respected that. We still had our little lunch dates which were amazing as always. Her company eases my heart in so many different ways. Just merely thinking about her is enough to have me smiling like an idiot. She is the most perfect human being on this planet. And when Donnie recovered, I wanted them to officially meet. Both Blake and Donnie were the only family I had in this world and it would mean so much if they liked her.

Blake called me while I was reminiscing about my future with Ruby. "He's awake." As soon as I heard those words I dashed to the hospital. Finally, he was okay, I was so relieved. I felt like the weight holding me down these past two weeks were finally lifted. I couldn't help the happy tears that poured from my eyes.
