Chapter 22 - Missing [3]

(Noah's Pov)

"Is something the matter?" I asked Hannah in a concerning tone. In reality, I didn't give a fuck whether she lives or dies. But since I needed to meet her father, I tried to get closer to her.

Her father was someone who could help me financially. Other than that, he had an artifact that I wanted.

"Me? no," replied Hannah while trying to hide her face. I guess she was jealous of the fact that Alice is more popular than her.

"Ok. We should get going before we get late for class," I said to the petite girl while walking towards our classroom.

After walking through the beautiful gate and past the long corridor, we entered our classroom.

As soon as I kept my first foot inside, the class became silent. All eyes focused on me.

'Tch, these weaklings,'

I thought while grumbling. Almost all the people here are weaklings. I am just an E-rank guy and they become quiet in my presence.

I expected better from these peasants.

The white-haired guy whom I had beaten was better than these guys.

Wasting no time on the students watching me, I went and sat in my designated place and so did Hannah.

Usually, she would stick around me until the teacher came but today she was in a bad mood.

"I am bored," I muttered while looking around me. My gaze fell upon the seat beside me. It was empty. My partner was a weird oddball.

Sometimes he used to act over-friendly while being depressed the rest of the time. It was as if he had multiple personality disorder.

'He's a unique person like that Ray guy,'

I thought while remembering the stunt he had pulled off three days ago. During our PT class, he had snuck into the girl's changing room and was peeping on girls.

That guy sure had guts. Peeping on the princess of the human domain isn't something someone sane could pull off.

While I was busy thinking, the window beside my seat creaked open slowly like a horror movie.

A guy in Avalon's uniform with flashy silver hair came through it. He was lean, muscular and had a height of around 5'10. His face wasn't visible though.

He wore a black ghost mask with white horns while his fingers were twisted.

'Trying to scare me?' I thought and stared at him blankly.

Seeing my response he asked in a sad tone, "You aren't scared?"

"Even a kid won't be surprised by that dumb shit," I said to him while making a face of mockery.

This guy surely had a lot of guts. His name was Zatch Brodsky. On his blazer was a badge with the number [4] imprinted on it.

'I wonder how he is ranked fourth. He behaves like a kid,' I thought while he removed his mask. A charming pale face with silver eyes came into view. He was handsome by the standards of any girl.

"Haah, next time I'll get you," he said to me and sat on the chair beside me.

After a few minutes, the door of the classroom opened and Mabel came.

'She looks too young for a ninety-year-old woman,'

I thought while looking at her. She looked no older than a woman in her late fifties.

"Good Morning Miss," all the students said in unison while seeing her. After that, she took our attendance.

"Students, Ray Bladefield of your class has gone missing. He hasn't attended any classes in the past week and we are not able to locate him. If anyone knows any kind of information about him then come forward," Mabel said while looking at us with seriousness.

None of the students said anything and were quietly seated. Well this, was expected. That guy had no friends. He was a perfect example of an introvert.

Seeing this Mabel didn't say anything and continued with the class.

'I wonder what has happened to him,' I thought while listening to Mabel's explanation about mana coherent theory.

"Honey, any news about this Ray kid," I said while looking at Mabel.

Right now we were in my office which was located on the highest floor of the Avalon's main building.

I liked silence and this place was perfect from it, far away from any kind of nuisance.

"No, from the looks of it he doesn't have any friends. Around a month ago he got into a fight with Noah which made other students keep distance from him," Mabel replied while sipping on some tea.

"Quite strange, we aren't able to locate his location. The last visible location of his was on the outskirts of the Human domain," I said while remembering the data I got this morning from my assistant.

"What was a first year student even doing at the outskirts of the human domain. That place is full of demons. It wouldn't be bad to compare that place to a battlefield," said Mabel in a worried tone.

'She is so kind,' I thought while looking at her while a smile formed on my face.

"What you said is certainly true. We don't know when demons will attack us. But actual battle experience makes a person stronger by leaps and bounds. Seems like Ray was frustrated about his growth and went to the outskirts to gain battle experience," I replied while coming up with this theory.

"We aren't able to locate the GPS of his smartwatch. Seems like he is dead,"

"Yes, that's most probably the case. We can't do anything about it now though," I said while flicking my finger.

Two people in black suits appeared in the room on the flick of my finger. One of them being a robust boy with hazel hair while the other one being a girl with magenta colour hair.

The boy was bulky and had a lot of muscles with a scar under his right eye while the girl had perfect curves. Her melons were big enough to make her body weigh down.

They both were around the age of twenty five and a part of the Black Squad. Black Squad is a squad made of selective people who have graduated from Avalon. Because of Black Squad, Avalon's strength doesn't lose to the top guilds.

"Go and find everything that you can find about Ray Bladefield. We don't have much information on him except for the fact that he is an orphan and that he lived in the countryside,"

"The data about him is way too messy. Find out who his parents were and how they were killed," I ordered.

"Yes sir," said the boy and they both disappeared.

"I should be going now as well. It's the time of 1-A's practical class. It will be fun to watch since Zephyr is taking it," Mabel said and walked out of the door leaving me all alone in the room.
