(In A Dark Place)
"Something interesting is happening. Let's see how long you can entertain me." A deep husky voice said while laughing and looking at a huge pond in front of him. This voice belonged to none other than the guardian of the tower.
If one looked at the surface of the pond rather than seeing the reflection of themselves one would see Ray in the reflection of the pond.
The guardian has been watching Ray through this pond ever since he entered the tower. He was very surprised to see someone enter the tower because no outsider has been able to enter the tower for the last five hundred years.
The last people to enter the tower weren't humans. It was the demons that entered the tower around five hundred years ago. They were able to enter the tower because the Tower of Infinity opens its gate every Five hundred years for ten years during which anyone can enter the Tower of Infinity.
Nobody knows why the Tower of Infinity does so. Even the guardian was surprised when it happened for the first time.
But what surprised the guardian, even more, was that there were still four more years left until the tower opened its gate. But right now he could see a being who didn't belong to the tower walking inside the tower.
This made the guardian very curious, this is the reason why the guardian has been watching Ray's actions since he entered the tower.
"He doesn't seem as barbaric as the demons." He said while looking at Ray who was walking mindlessly in the search of a shelter to spend the night at.
If one looked closely at the guardian, one would notice that he looked like a vampire with his chest buffed out and small black wings coming out of his back. He had a long staff in his hand which was even darker than the darkness. The light seemed to vanish as soon as it got close to it.
The guardian lived in the basement of the Tower. Only the guardian was able to access this place. The basement was full of greenery and lush. Even the chair he was sitting on right now was made of wood. Thin shiny leaves covered it and made it extremely comfortable and beautiful.
Small bird-like creatures were sitting on top of a majestic tree beside the lake. The tree had pink leaves and fruits which looked extremely delicious. One would start to drool just by looking at them.
Small animals were playing around the pond and some were watching Ray carefully and commenting on how weird he was.
According to the animals, Ray was weird as fuck. At one moment he was running away from a single revine and the other moment he was killing a horde of linens as if they were some kind of pest.
Ray didn't know this but he had become the source of entertainment for the animals and the guardian. It was as if everything he was doing was being live-streamed.
"I wonder how much time it will take him to reach the 10th floor." the guardian said while taking a sip from the cup he was holding in his hands.
His behaviour was different from his appearance and the basement was something any human would drool over and be jealous of. In simple words, it was heaven on earth.
-----
( On the first floor)
While the guardian and the animals were enjoying seeing Ray struggle, he was busy finding himself a shelter.
After picking up two revines that he had killed, he started to check out his nearby area.
"There must be a cave nearby," Ray muttered while looking through the bushes and trees. According to him, there was a cave nearby since linens usually live in caves and he had killed some just a while ago.
After searching for half an hour he finally heard the sound of falling water. As soon as Ray heard the sound, he started to run towards it since it was getting late. It was almost night. The sun had already set and the dangerous monsters had started coming out to fill their stomachs.
Floor one had monsters other than G- rank. Ray had spotted an E-rank lizard-like-looking monster just a while ago. The quest on the first floor was easy to let the people adapt to their surroundings.
From the second floor onwards it was going to get way tougher. After sprinting for a few minutes, Ray finally saw the source of the sound of falling water. It was a waterfall and just beside the waterfall, was a cave.
"My hard work finally paid off," Ray said with a tired look on his face and walked inside the cave. The cave was filled with a lot of bones.
"There doesn't seem to be any monsters here but this smell is really bad," he said while closing his nose with his hand.
"Ice storm," Ray muttered while controlling his breath, within a matter of two seconds strong winds started to blow inside the cave and everything got covered in ice and snow. The bad stench of the rotten bones escaped the cave alongside the bones.
"Feels good now," Ray said while removing his hand from my nose and putting the revines on the floor. They were still trapped inside the ice.
After that, he quickly started a fire and cooked the revines after taking them out of the ice and peeling their skin off.
"I miss those good old days," He muttered in a low voice while sitting alongside a wall. There was a sad smile on his face as if he was thinking about his past life.
"I miss you, dad," Ray said while a couple of tears flowed down his eyes and soon he burst into tears. Ever since he came into this world, he was scared. He didn't know what to do, but he lied to himself that everything was fine. He thought that if he would act strong everything would become all right.
But now, being trapped all alone in a jungle where he didn't know how long he would survive he couldn't control himself anymore.
He wanted to go home. He wanted to return to his family, to his old life.
After crying like a baby for half an hour, he stopped himself and started to think about his dad. In his past life, Ray used to go camping with his father. He learned his survival skills from his dad. This jungle, greenery, waterfall, and nature, everything around him right now reminded him of his dad.
He wanted to give up now. He didn't have any more strength left to act strong. He couldn't lie to himself anymore. But when he was about to give up and faint he remembered his father's words -
"Ray always remembers, I'll always be with you no matter where you are. So my little champ, never be scared of anyone or anything and always keep moving forward and you'll get what you want,"
These words gave him a new resolve to meet his parents back again and he drifted off to sleep with a childish smile on his face.
