Chapter 2 - Fortunately, It's Just a Dream

Su Can was not joking. He was not an ordinary person or an ordinary landlord. The truth was he possessed a superpower. He had the ability to dream of imminent disasters. In a way, it could be said that he could predict the future. Moreover, after dreaming of a disaster, his constitution would improve according to the size of the disaster.

Su Can could no longer remember when he first obtained this superpower. However, he clearly remembered an instance when he was young. At that time, he dreamed that he would be hit by a truck on the way to school and that he was paralyzed as a result. He did not give much thought to the dream and dismissed it as a nightmare at that time. However, he clearly felt the change in his body after he had woken up. At that time, he had rushed to school because he was late. He soon discovered that he was not even panting. It felt as though he could run five or six laps around the school sports field without getting tired at all. Since he was in a rush, he did not pay attention to his surroundings when he crossed the road, and at that moment, he saw a red truck driving at full speed toward him. It was also at this moment that his dream from the night before appeared in his mind. The red truck was exactly the same as the truck in his dream. When realization dawned on him, he felt his heart sinking; his dream had turned into reality. Fortunately, the outcome was different from his dream. His reaction was surprisingly fast, and he managed to react in time and moved forward before the red truck hit him, successfully escaping from danger.

"Damn it! Brat, don't you know how to look left and right before crossing the road?!"

Su Can still remembered the truck driver cursing at him at that time. He had been so scared that he had broken out in cold sweat. At such a distance, it was impossible for the red truck to stop in time.

After avoiding the red truck, Su Can panted heavily as he rested his hands on his legs. At that time, he had automatically tuned out the curses. It took him a long time before he finally calmed down, and he replayed everything that had happened in his mind. He confirmed that his nightmare from before really came true. It seemed like the outcome was different because his reaction and speed had improved, helping him to avoid a disaster.

Su Can was absent-minded the entire day in school. At some point, he even ran a few laps around the school's sports field to test out his theory, and he confirmed that his physique had indeed improved. Apart from that, there was nothing out of the ordinary.

After that, Su Can had several nightmares, and the severity of the disasters he dreamed about varied. Without fail, his physique would improve every time according to the severity of the disasters. The more severe the disaster was, the more his physique would improve when he woke up the next day.

Apart from that, Su Can also discovered that although the disasters he dreamed of would come true, their outcomes would also change. Just like that time when he dreamed about getting hit by a truck, he managed to avoid getting hit the next day. Similarly, the next few times he had a nightmare, all of them came true, but the results were different.

Initially, Su Can was rather proud of his ability. He thought that he could be considered half a Superman. However, perhaps it was due to his personality, his excitement only lasted for a short time before he gradually calmed down. Not only that, but he also felt that the ability was not of much use to him. The only thing he gained was his improved physique, and at that time, he thought that that would only help him to win fights in school. Just like that, as time passed, he became less and less concerned about this ability.

However, just as Su Can was about to forget that he possessed such an ability, he suddenly had a nightmare again.

Not long ago, Su Can dreamed that a huge disaster struck the entire world, turning it into a world of ice and snow. Just the sight of it would make one feel a bone-piercing chill.

Office buildings that were dozens of stories high were covered in ice and snow, looking like towering icicles. Many people who did not escape in time were trapped and died.

There were also pedestrians that froze to death on the streets.

Considering the scorching weather today, who would have imagined that the world would change so drastically?

In the dream, Su Can saw the snowstorm approaching him swiftly, overwhelming and suffocating him. In the end, the feeling of suffocation woke him up, but the hair on his body stood on end.

At that time, Su Can, who had calmed down and forgotten about his ability, muttered to himself in relief, "Fortunately, it's just a dream…

After all, such a disaster would deal a huge blow to the entire world.

Alas, the relief did not last long. Before Su Can could relax, he felt a slight heat on his body.

"What's happening? Don't tell me it's…"

A foreboding feeling rose in his heart immediately. Just like in the dream, he felt a bone-piercing chill as his back broke out in cold sweat.

In the next moment, Su Can felt his body changing. Most importantly, the change was very drastic. He could even see his muscles growing a little. This change caused his expression to turn grim immediately. After all, the change in his body indicated that his dream was not just a dream and that the disaster he dreamed of would definitely come true.

Over the next few days, Su Can dreamed of continuous high temperatures. It was the kind of heat where he felt as though he could be roasted while walking on the street. As expected, his body continued to change, and the change was very significant. If it continued, it would not be long before he gained the mermaid line. In any case, this meant that the disaster was soon approaching.

With this knowledge, the only thought in Su Can's head was, 'To hell with everything! I should just live as long as I can, and the most important thing is to have fun!'

Su Can lived more and more extravagantly with the knowledge of the impending disaster. His grandfather, the old man who adopted him, had already passed away, and there was no one else he cared about in the world anyway. At most, he would die with everyone. However, he felt that it would be really painful and regretful if he died without spending his money. He was determined not to let such a thing happen to him.

Back to the present.

While Su Can was lost in his thoughts, he had arrived close to his house at some point.

"Hmm?"

Su Can frowned as he stood outside his house. He saw a group of people wearing flowery shirts standing at the door. The person standing in the center was a bald man wearing a thick gold chain. Su Can did not know if the gold chain was real or fake, but he could clearly see the fierce expression on the other party's face. As for the others, all of them held weapons in their hands. It was not difficult to see that these people had come with ill intentions.
