Liu Zhenhan, fully armed, had not yet reached the second floor when he heard a collective cheer. Climbing the stairs, he saw a large group of people gathered by a floor-to-ceiling window on the second floor, holding their breath in tense anticipation.
Creeping over, Liu Zhenhan wrapped his arms around Helen, who was tense with nerves. Helen jumped with fright but relaxed upon recognizing who was embracing her.
"How's it going?" Liu Zhenhan whispered into Helen's ear.
"The little parrot just finished detoxifying, and Yitiao needs to wait a little longer," Helen said, leaning contentedly against Liu Zhenhan's chest.
