The battlefield at night belongs to the Wolf Cavalry, not the nursery rhymes of children.
Quickly, two companies of human light cavalry arrived. This was a combined force, with a number of bow-riders mixed in. Although the two hundred human cavalrymen were light cavalry, each rider was equipped with half-armor, rendering this essentially a semi-armored cavalry force.
The two forces slowly approached to within three hundred yards of each other, each arranging their formations.
The Wolf Cavalry was in no way inferior to the human cavalry. They wore neatly poly-synthetic armor, and even though their weapons were a mishmash, many Wolf Cavalrymen drew their familiar curved blades for this battle. Dozens of tamed wolves paced back and forth on both sides of the ranks. In battle, these tamed wolves were a formidable force not to be taken lightly.
