POV: Izuku/Midoriya/Deku—
I wake up feeling around for my phone and realise it's not there with me. I open my eyes as I just now notice I slept on the couch, then I look to the other side of the couch seeing Kacchan laying down on the couch asleep as well.
I stand up and walk down the hall to my bedroom and grab my phone. My eyes are still a bit blurry and only slowly adjusting to the light, so I use my good friend Siri. "Hey Siri, what time is it?" I ask into my phone as it then replies, "Koreha 8:34 gozen, Anata wa gakkō ni totemo okurete imasu." (It's 8:34 am, you're very late for school) My eyes widen knowing how dead I am. I run downstairs to wake Kacchan up, but when I reach the bottom I see Kacchan already awake sitting on the couch rubbing his eyes. "Kacchan!" I yell at him as he looks at me annoyed. "What the hell do you want Deku?!" He yells back at me, guess he's back to normal. "It's 8:30, right now!" He stares at me confused about what I mean as he stands up and starts walking towards me. "We're gonna be late..f-for school?" I say quietly trying not to annoy him. He sighs and pushes me away as he walks upstairs into, what I'm guessing to be, the guest bedroom. I run back into my bedroom and get ready.
I take a quick shower, drying myself after of course, and then I put my uniform on. As I exit my room, I run over to the couch and grab my bag, I look out the window and I see Kacchan already walking down from the porch steps and on his way to school already. This causes me to immediately rush out the door to catch up to him, and I somehow manage to. "Kacchan!" I yell out as I slow down once I catch up to him. "What the hell do you want, nerd?!" He yells at me, not slowing down or making any eye contact, just walking and yelling. "Uhm…what was going on last night-" I start as I'm cut off mid sentence by Kacchan, "That was nothing you idiot! Mind your own fucking business!" He yells at me as I jump back from where he can reach me.
We continue walking and around halfway there, I take a turn as Kacchan pauses watching me walk into the alley. "Where the hell are you going, the school is this way dumbass." He says to me looking confused and frustrated. "I know, but I always take the shortcut." I say slowly, yet confidence struck up in my head as I thought I sounded smart. "...You're fucking stupid." He replied to me in a low, flat voice. Kacchan then turns to me and begins walking in the same direction as me. "W-what are you doing..?" I ask him as he passes me. "You said it was a shortcut, and we are already late." Kacchan says as he continues walking past me. I walked to catch up with him and we walked in silence, until we exited the alley where he then broke the silence. "If you have a short cut, why are you always late?" He asks. I stare at him shocked for a second as he then looks at me in anger. "What the hell are you staring at?!" He yells as I back up in fear. "I-I'm just surprised you even bothered to talk to me.." I say as my voice falls silent. "Whatever, just tell me and then shut up!" He says in a quiet yell. I nod my head and then begin telling him what I can. "Well..I've been having some trouble sleeping at night so I tend to wake up later." "Why did this start happening? You weren't ever really late before." He asks again. I stay silent for a while as the whole experience I went through plays in my mind, My hero telling me I can't do the only thing I've ever dreamed of, the way he just flew away after telling me this news, the thoughts that continue to play through my mind every time I'm sat alone in a quiet space, the wind hitting my face as I fell through the sky, but then I'm snapped out of my thoughts. "Deku!" Kacchan yells, causing me to come out of my thoughts and back to the present. "W-wha-" "You were gonna say why you're always late." He says to me and I stare for just a second then look away. I can't just tell him about it, who knows what he would do? Ever since last night when he hugged me and comforted me and let me be in the same room as him without trying to blow me up, I can no longer put my finger on what Kacchan might do. He's become quite unpredictable since that, or maybe he's back to normal? All I know is, I can't just tell Kacchan, I can give him hints, lies and/or cuts of the truth but not in detail. "Well?" He asks, and at that point I made up my mind. "Nightmares." I say quietly, "About what?" He asks. That's when I began to panic a bit, why did I not expect him to say that?! Of course he would, but at the same time it's Kacchan so why would he even care?! "Just..stuff I guess, how…powerless I am. I'm a quirkless nobody so I keep dreaming about what would happen to me if a villain actually got to me." as I say that I look up to Kacchan as he stares at me in shock. "You think you're quirkless nobody?" He says surprised. "I mean after years of being called that...yeah." I say to him quietly, now that wasn't necessarily lying. It's not the main reason for my sleep problems, but it is something that I dream about every once in a while. All Might did actually say something like it as well, his exact words were, "Villains would know you were somehow a quirkless hero would make them know you are vulnerable without another hero with you that has a quirk, you couldn't go on any missions alone." Therefore, not lying. As our conversation falls quiet, I look up from the ground and see the school right ahead of us.
