Chapter 70 - Chapter-70 Offended

As they walked through the academy, Lennox's mind buzzed with questions, each step he took feeling heavier than the last. He couldn't shake off the strange sensation coursing through his body, making his movements feel awkward and uncertain. Glancing sideways at Kira, he found himself unable to contain his curiosity any longer.

"Hey, Kira," he began, his voice a mixture of apprehension and fascination, "what was that power you and Theo were throwing around back there?"

Kira slowed her pace, as she glanced at him a small smile playing on her lips, then at other Nexarc ahead. "Oh, that was Nex your Nexus Energy. You can kinda use it for both offense and defense by channeling it through your body."

Lennox furrowed his brows, "Interesting," he murmured, his gaze drifting to the floor as he pondered her words. "How do I tap into that?"

Theo, who had been walking a few steps ahead, overheard their conversation and couldn't resist chiming in. "It's not as complicated as it sounds," he reassured Lennox, his tone laced with confidence. "Just spread your Nexus Energy throughout your body or focus it on a specific part, you just have to learn to feel it, to let it flow through you."

Lennox nodded, his curiosity piqued. He paused, taking a deep breath as he tried to center himself, to reach out and grasp his nexus energy inside him. Closing his eyes for a moment, he focused on the sensation coursing through his veins, a tingling warmth.

Slowly, he extended his hand, his fingers trembling slightly as he reached out. At first, there was nothing but the cool breeze, but then, just beneath the surface, he felt it a faint, silver reddish glow.

He watched the glow grow brighter, illuminating his fingertips with a soft. It was feeble at first, barely stirring the air around it.

Lennox sighed, his frustration palpable as he clenched his fists, the feeble glow of Nex Energy fading from his fingertips. "Yeah, I get what you mean. But mine felt really feeble compared to yours," he voiced, his tone tinged with disappointment.

Kira placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder, her touch light yet grounding. "It's okay, Lennox," she said softly, her eyes filled with empathy. "Everyone's journey with Nex Energy is different."

He nodded, grateful for her understanding. "But what's the deal with this Nexus Physique you mentioned?" he asked.

Kira's lips curved into a knowing smile. "Ah, the Nexus Physique," she began. "It's a rare gift, one that only a few possess. Theo and I, along with Lys and Gabriel, have it. It's what allows us to truly harness the power of Nex Energy throughout our body."

Lennox's eyes widened. "So, it's like a special ability?" he ventured.

Kira nodded, her expression serious. "Exactly. It's like unlocking a hidden potential within yourself, tapping into the very essence of your being."

He couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy at the thought of his companions wielding such power. "But what about me?" he asked, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "How do I unlock my own Nexus Physique?"

Kira's gaze softened, her hand squeezing his shoulder reassuringly. "Don't worry, Lennox. It'll come to you in time," she assured him. "Just keep training, keep pushing yourself. And when the time is right, you'll awaken your Nexus Physique, just like the rest of us."

...

Lennox stood outside the magnificent two-story mansion, his mind swirling with confusion and gratitude. Theo and Kira had explained that this lavish residence was a gift from the academy, a gesture that both surprised and humbled him. He couldn't fathom why he, of all people, had been singled out for such special treatment, especially considering the modest house accommodations most students received.

The next morning, Lennox awoke with a sense of anticipation tinged with uncertainty. He had yet to receive any further guidance from Theo or Kira about his schedule or classes. As he prepared to go out into the academy grounds, he did not to rely on anyone else for directions.

As Lennox stepped out of his mansion, he couldn't help but notice the curious glances and murmurs from his fellow Nexarc students. It seemed that his newfound residence had attracted quite a bit of attention.

"Look, someone's coming out of the Zen Mansion!"

"That mansion has never been given to anyone before!"

Ignoring the whispers swirling around him, Lennox continued on his way, passing by rows of more typical student housing, he was suddenly jolted from his thoughts by a voice calling out from behind him.

"Hey! Hey!"

Turning around, Lennox's gaze fell upon a striking figure racing toward him. The man stood tall at 6 feet, his lithe yet powerful build exuding an aura of strength and confidence. His eyes, a mesmerizing amber color, seemed to hold a wealth of secrets, while intricate markings on his skin added to his enigmatic appearance. His hair, a vibrant mix of red, gold, and orange, cascaded down his back like flames dancing in the wind. Clad in fitted trousers, a flowing tunic, and a cloak that billowed behind him.

Lennox narrowed his eyes at the approaching man, his curiosity piqued by the stranger's sudden interest. "What?" he asked, his tone guarded.

The man stood before him with a bright smile, seemingly unperturbed by Lennox's skepticism. "You're the new Nexarc, right? I've never seen you around here before, and I know everyone. So, how are you finding it here? Good or bad?" he inquired eagerly.

Lennox nodded curtly, already growing wary of the man's overly talkative nature, his instincts telling him to tread cautiously.

"Hey, wait, wait, don't leave yet!" the man called out, attempting to stop Lennox as he started to walk away.

Sighing inwardly, Lennox paused, reluctantly turning to face the persistent stranger.

"I noticed you were walking like you're lost, which is understandable on your first day," the man continued, catching up to Lennox. "So how about I show you to the classes?"

Lennox hesitated for a moment before conceding, realizing that having someone guide him might save him from getting lost in the labyrinthine halls of the academy.

"Great. So, what's your name? Mine's Alexander," the man introduced himself with a friendly grin.

"Lennox," he replied shortly, his demeanor guarded as he followed alongside Alexander.

As they walked, Lennox found it difficult to concentrate on Alexander's constant chatter, his mind drifting back to the conversation he had with Kira and Theo about awakening his Nexus physique and unlocking his hidden potential.

...

Suddenly, a sense of unease washed over Lennox as he noticed a decrease in the number of Nexarcs around them. His instincts went on high alert, warning him of imminent danger looking around hi beside long closed hallway was Infront of him. Before he could react, he felt a searing blast of heat engulf him, knocking him to the ground with a forceful impact that sent hm rolling onto the hall floors

Gasping for breath and struggling against the pain that wracked his body, Lennox clenched his jaw. Despite the agony coursing through him, he struggled to stand back up. Lennox glared up at Alexander.

"What are you doing? Why are you attacking me? We have no grudge, we've never met before!" Lennox shouted, his voice tinged with confusion and disbelief. He struggled to make sense of the sudden assault, his mind racing to comprehend why this Alexander would want to harm him.

'What could possibly make him want to attack me?' Lennox pondered silently.

"You've offended someone you shouldn't have," Alexander replied cryptically, his tone taking on a menacing edge that sent a shiver down Lennox's spine.

Feeling threatened and cornered, Lennox instinctively summoned a fireball and hurled it at Alexander. But to his astonishment, Alexander effortlessly wave his hand sending out a fire degrees stronger than his just destroying it instantly.

"Using mere fire against my Phoenix fire?" Alexander scoffed, his voice dripping with disdain as he summoned medium orange wings on his back.

Alexander fire wave continued toward Lennox, forcing Lennox to hastily conjure a fire shield to defend himself.

"The Phoenix bloodline is a divine creature. How could you possibly possess it? It belongs only in the god realm!" Lennox exclaimed in shock, his mind struggling to comprehend the impossible reality unfolding before him. 'Phoenix bloodline... It can't be the real Phoenix bloodline. How is it possible for someone to have it? unless its a sub bloodline'

Alexander smirked arrogantly "Really narrow-minded. My clan hails from the god realms," he boasted.

"Why would you do this? Become someone else's lapdog? You don't seem like that type of guy," Lennox questioned, suspicion gnawing at him. 'The only person I can think will attack me so far is Gabriel. Why target me? He has something against Theo and Kira, not me. Is he targeting me because of them?' he wondered.

"Who the hell are you calling a lap—" Alexander began, But before Alexander could respond, Lennox interrupted him by launching two inferno shurikens in rapid succession. Yet, even as the fiery projectiles hurtled towards him, Alexander remained unfazed, his senses honed by his bloodline's innate ability to detect and anticipate different types of fire.

"You're seeking death," Alexander declared ominously, his amber eyes flashing with a dangerous glint.

With a powerful motion of his wings, Alexander unleashed a barrage of blazing feathers, each transformed into a lethal blade of light. The shimmering projectiles sliced through the air with deadly accuracy, aimed directly at Lennox.

Reacting with lightning reflexes, Lennox hurled one of his inferno shurikens at Alexander, hoping to disrupt his onslaught. But to his dismay, the shuriken was effortlessly obliterated by Alexander's sheer force of will, its flames snuffed out before they could make contact.

Desperation mounting, Lennox redirected his remaining shuriken, aiming it behind Alexander in a desperate bid to catch him off guard. The projectile struck true, causing Alexander to stagger momentarily, but the resilient assailant quickly regained his footing.

Before Lennox could mount another defense, one of Alexander's fiery feathers found its mark, slamming into his face with searing intensity. Agony erupted through Lennox's senses as the burning feather seared his flesh, leaving him reeling in excruciating pain. Blood mingled with the heat of the attack, staining the ground beneath him.

Gasping for breath and struggling to maintain consciousness, Lennox collapsed to the ground, his body racked with torment. Darkness threatened to overwhelm him as he fought to stay conscious.

Alexander slowly advanced towards Lennox, each step echoing loudly in his ears. "I was only supposed to give you scar, but I've changed my mind. I'm going to kill you, and no one will know about it," he grinned sinisterly.

"Why is this happening? What did I do to deserve this?" Lennox's said softly as he cough up blood onto his face, as he felt himself slowly losing consciousness.

"Alexander, what do you think you're doing?" the voice called out, breaking through the silence.

"Who's that?" Lennox wondered hazily, his senses fading as unconsciousness loomed near.

"What do you think you're doing, attacking one of our own?" the person demanded, they voice ringing with authority.

"I can barely hear them. I guess I'm about to die," Lennox thought as his vision darkened, succumbing to unconsciousness.
