Chapter 9 - Chapter 8: Tresure Located

Ahooooo!

Vincent immediately sprung up from his slumber, only to find the one-eyed wolf staring at him with anger.

"You're still here." Vincent yelled back as the wolf gave him one final look before walking off with a growl.

"What's their problem, I know I killed one of their own probably an alpha due to its size but still what's its problem." Vincent muttered, looking around him as he dusted off his clothes.

"It's night? I couldn't have slept that long." Vincent thought but let it aside as he examined his surroundings.

"I really have to thank the person who gave us the protection." Vincent commented as he climbed down his hatch.

However, as he looked at his base, he found that most of the floor was littered with materials. He struggled to even find a place to stand but he was surprised to find what seemed to be raw meat, skin, and even bones lying on the ground.

"What the." Vincent questioned as he slowly approached the items.

"Wait is this the wolf's meat." Vincent muttered as he recalled the prompts from earlier.

"At least I have food now, but now I need to increase my living space. Thankfully I have all the wood I need." Vincent said as he opened up the interface.

[House]

[Next Upgrade: Increases space to 12 by 14 meters]

[Requirements: 40 Wood]

"So do I just say yes-"

[Upgrade confirmed]

[Upgrade time: 10:00]

"Huh, it actually does work like that. Now hat."

[Dispensing the host out of base]

"Huh." Vincent questioned but before he knew it he was outside the base.

"Well that's was unexpected, at least can I retrieve my axe." Vincent muttered sarcastically but then the plate in his pocket vibrated.

Vincent grabbed the plate but in response a screen appeared in front of him.

The screen was cut into boxes and within each box, there as an image of an item. In the first two were his clothes which eh still hadn't worn and rest were filled with images of materials he had mined or collected, even the meat and other organic material were found there but just after the bones, there was the image of a red liquid.

[Saber-toothed Dire Wolf Blood- Edible]

[Description: The blood of an evolved version of a Dire wolf. When consumed, the blood has the capabilities to increase the overall strength of the consumers legs, granting immense speed however it is not recommended to consume at a lower level as it can corrupt the cells of the consumer, transforming them into a hybrid while also making them go insane [Note: This does not apply to shapeshifters or beast men who have the [Fenrir Bloodline]

"It's basically a doubled edged sword and what does it mean by low is leveled." Vincent wondered as he stroked his chin, however his attention as brought to another object just after the blood.

"Is that a treasure chest" Vincent looked over at the silver treasure chest as another prompt appeared.

[Do you wish to open the R treasure chest? [Y/N]

"Sure."

[You have gained 400ml Mineral Water+4]

[You have gained 400g Wheat Bread +4]

[You have gained an Elite Weapon [Wolf Fang Spear]

[You have gained blueprint [Wolf Coat]

[Do you wish to dismantle the four bottles of mineral water to obtain four plastic bottles? [Y/N]

Vincent thought about it for a moment before refusing the prompt. What was he going to do with empty bottles of water?

All he had to do was think of the bottle and it appeared in his hand. Vincent at this point would not even question a dragon flying in the sky so he just opened the cap and began to drink.

Although conserving resources was best, he hadn't drunk water in over a day and a half, so he really needed the thirst-quenching liquid.

After quenching his thirst, he didn't throw the bottle away, instead he thought of it returning to his pack and it disappeared with tis image appearing in the screen.

"Convenient." Vincent commented as he looked at the screen again as he started to question his options.

[Saber-toothed Dire Wolf Flesh- Edible]

[Description: This is the flesh of a Saber-toothed Dire Wolf. The flesh is sour to the taste but once eaten, it increases one's speed although slightly compared to its blood]

"Hmm, it can increase my speed but still… wait, I have bread, but I don't know how long the meat will last." Vincent thought.

"Okay then, I need to make a fire I have wood, but fire is the problem. Thankfully, they taught me how to create fire from wood, but I don't that wood work but what if I use stones to create a spark." Vincent contemplated before coming to a solution.

"I have to go the surface." Vincent sighed as he looked up.

"How though, ugh guess I have to wait for the house to compete building." Vincent sat down as he browsed the panel to pass time.

"Wait, I gained a spear!" Vincent recalled the notification which had forgotten.

He immediately stood up, lifting his hand as a spear appeared in his hand.

[Wolf Fang Spear-Rare]

[Description: A spear made with the two fangs of a Saber-toothed Dire Wolf. The fangs have been remolded into blades making the spear in a double bladed spear but instead of being bot hat one end, each blade is at the opposite ends. The blades have been enforced with the blood making its stronger and faster]

"This is a rather peculiar spear." Vincent said as he held it in his hands.

He twirled it in his hands, testing the weight. Although he hadn't used a spear that much before, he had learnt it as an extracurricular because he had seen a movie in which the protagonist used a staff to fight and he wanted to learn.

The only difference between a spear and staff was the sharp end so his teacher just added a spear into the mix. He hadn't used it that much as who uses a spear to fight in the modern world so he was still hazy on the arts.

Not only that, this couldn't even be considered as a spear. With spears, thrusting was the main attack pattern but with this, he need to use it like an axe while also thrusting.

Because of this, Vincent knew he had to practice with this before going to attack the spiders. Although he knew he could use it like a normal spear but he also knew stabbing himself was in order too.

Vincent decided to place the spear away as he still wanted to browse the channel.

[BigDaddy: Help anyone, I just saw what looked like a giant chameleon outside.]

[Darth Walker: I know, they are a couple of wild dogs around my home but hey are approaching me.]

[Chucky: I just saw a treasure chest in the wood, is that normal?]

[Carl: I need food, could anyone spare met some food]

"Huh, so there are chests in the woods." Vincent mumbled as he scrolled through the page finding more recounts of treasure chests in the woods and even deserts. Some people even appeared in deserts.

After scrolling through his regional channel too, Vincent discovered two new things.

One, Treasure chests appear in forests and two, they disappear after some time.

[Upgrade Complete]

"Uhh, finished already. Time really goes by when you're reading." Vincent muttered as he climbed into the base.

As he stepped on the ground, he found that space in his base had doubled. The materials were packed to one side but he knew if he continued to collect materials without caution, this space would also be filled in a matter of seconds.

"What if I just trade the materials I have in excess." Vincent murmured as he opened up the inventory.

"Stone and wood are the things which take up most of my space but I need them. Ugh so lets scratch that. Maybe I just gather all the wood I can take and make my base bigger and bigger, maybe even get a bed to lie on." Vincent said.

Vincent climbed out of his base, breathed in a sigh of relief before closing his eye.

"Okay then, [Track Chests]." Vincent commanded, opening his golden eye as radar just appeared in the side of his vision.

In it, there were over fifteen dots but most were farer than rest.

"In my proximity, they are seven chests I can get. The two around a kilometer away from me, one just around me and the one in the forest…and three underground?" Vincent muttered as he looked around him.

Tracking was exactly it said out to be, he knows where something is but he doesn't know anything else in its proximity so if the chests were filled with mushrooms or monsters he wouldn't know.

However, the path behind was a plain grassland so it would be safer for him to head there besides it was closer.

"But before hat." Vincent said, looking around before changing his radar.

[Dire wolves]

Vincent just looked into woods in disbelief. They were over seventeen wolves just in the woods as if waiting for him to move so they could attack.

"Damn….What's his problem."
