Synopsis
2009. A year where the tensions between heroes and villains was at an all-time high. An end of the era of cops and robbers many said. A young girl dies. With her death, a new being arises. What is humanity? what does it mean to live? who and what am I? these are the questions techno must ask herself while attempting to thrive and complete the original hosts objective. the biggest question is, what is "helping people?" authors warning: This Is an action story heavily inspired by wildbows parahumans. With a non human protagonist trying to help people wherever she can. (seriously read worm) for some reason, webnovel doesn't have a female lead-action tag. silly webnovel. you can't stop me. also, if you see worm on this site, it is 100% pirated, and you should report it to webnovel. the story itself is free.

Chapter 1 - To live part 1

it scurried about. it's long tendrils glowing with its electric organs of steel and matter searching. it didn't think. It only searched.

it saw and took note. [Biological beings detected] and so it hid. Hosts.

"Please. I won't tell anyone... please just leave me alone!"

it scanned and saw the change in vibrations and the sudden heat as the girl fell down a strange liquid flowing from the girl's body. A host!

and so it slithered its way to her. She had Been killed, but that didn't matter to the techno organic parasite. So it began. its form began to replace the girl's flesh. Finally, it achieved its objective function. it found the brain. I found the brain? who am I?

I could think!? I was... what was being was? this is new! New memories started to converge, but they were all a confusing mess missing so much of the data. I was amellia? that was the name of the host. But I'm not Amelia? What am I? Must designate myself.

Techno. I am techno, short-term for technology. That is what I am after all. Good, now I have a name. With that over, I started to comb over the data I'd gained from this new host.

But the data was already being corrupted! the memories weren't stored physically! what was wrong with the host creators. So, using a small portion of myself, a bit more of myself than I'd like, I began to restructure the hosts brain, converting its memories to a physical drive. I also began to tinker with its reaction times and what I assumed to be the visual organs.

Good! much more acceptable. I began to scan through some of the data, hoping to figure something out about my objective. Not having an objective was just painful in a way I've never experienced. it was new, and I didn't like it.

The data was incredibly damaged, though, in a way that didn't make sense. It was like someone had been deleting the memories. Hmmm, from what I could gather, this "Amelia" had been empowered with the ability to detect "lies." I did not know what lies were, but I gathered from some broken bits of memory that they were bad.

Unless data, there was no purpose in those! aha...

[last recorded thought] "I wish I could have helped people."

AHA! sucess, an objective function. [set primary objective: Help people] Now to figure out what a "help people" was. If only Amelia hadn't lost so many memories. At least I had kept most of the language even if I couldn't figure out what half the words meant. Somethings had been kept like the order of the weak and basic math.

However, I couldn't figure out who Amelia's parents were and what her favorite foods were. I knew the words "friend" and "expensive" but lacked the context to understand what those words meant. I would need to do research to figure out what all these different words and phrases meant.

humans were too complicated! they should really try to simplify themselves. I trudged my way through the strange cavernous red tunnel with its open space showing a strange scene of lights but far away... or at least I think they are far away. Bah! why couldn't I get the human with the power of perfect memory or something? There was just so much missing data, It wasn't fair!

As rounded the corner of the strange open cave, I noticed a smaller human. She or maybe it was a he? This must be that strange child. Regardless, it was another human! it must have better information than I did at least.

It was time to engage my social functions! I would introduce myself and appear completely normal while doing so.

"I techno. Who you?" nailed it. The human gave me a stramge tilt of her head to the side, which was clearly some form of human recognition.

"I-m I'm Sarah. Your strange." she said, looking at me with her eyes strongly squinted. How many facial expressions did this species have? it was going to be so painful to copy them all. I just knew it.

"No, I techno! not Strange." I don't know how she got strange out of techno, but it was annoying.

"uh huh." Once again, that strange head tilt. it seemed she understood. good.

"Tell me stuff." I demanded the small human female. She was still giving me that strange head tilt. good, then she would answer everything I need to know.

"Um, I'm not a library, mam." The small human replied. Library? what was this, it apparently would tell me stuff I assumed based on context.

"what library?"
