Walking in the familiar dimly blue lit corridors, our party proceeded carefully, with Fartumal in front, Nerriwyn beside him, Orihana a little further back and me on the rear.
Nerriwyn was the Scout role for she had a perk that allowed her to sense mana signatures in a radius wherever her arrows were placed.
Doing this we came to a room where she sensed about six frog monsters, guarding the door to continue further in the dungeon.
Fartumal rushes forward into the room, chanting, as his shield glows yellow as it grows bigger. The rest of us follow him into the room, Nerriwyn positioning herself behind him with Orihana behind her, while I stay to the right watching the flank.
The frog men shield their large beady black eyes from the light of the shield charging towards him. I activate Invisibility heading towards the furthest of the monsters.
Nerriwyn notches an arrow, letting it fly, striking down a charging frogman. Two frogmen make it to his shield, stabbing at his defense with their tridents.
Orihana finishes her chant, a yellow glow coming from all of us. I look at my active blessings,
[Blessing of Etymus- You heal 75 per second.]
As I near the frogman, he gives no indication that he notices my presence, so I flank behind him, stabbing him in the back, which pulls me out of Invisibility.
The other frogman turns towards me, throwing his trident at my head. Seeing it flying at me, I jump to the side, dodging the trident.
While I'm on the ground, the frogman pounces landing on top of me and bites down on my right arm. Feeling pain, I use my left dagger to stab at his exposed head killing him and loosening his grip on my arm.
Pulling the dead frogman off of me, I inspect my arm and notice the bite mark on my arm no longer hurts with a faint white glow to it.
Seeing Nerriwyn kill another frogman who was banging on Fartumal's shield, I run at one of the remaining two frogmen.
Reaching one, he attempts to stab chest with his trident, I rotate my body to the side and use my left dagger to deflect it further away, bringing the dagger back to slash its throat.
I turn to see the final frogman drop, an arrow between his eyes. Fartumal's shield returns to normal, and Orihana cancels her healing blessing.
"Well, that was a lot quicker than how we normally do it."
"Yea I have way more arrows to continue if we want. How's everyone's mana?" From this fight I can tell they use too many resources on fights.
Fartumal spends all his mana shielding when he could also use his sword to kill them quicker, Orihana keeps her healing blessing up on everyone, draining unnecessary mana when no one is hurt.
I will give them credit that they fight safely and slowly, ensuring that they minimize injuries, which has kept them alive so far.
While Nerriwyn checks for any recoverable arrows, I cut off and store the frogmen's fingers for Garbhan potions later. Deciding to continue, opening the door to descend to the second floor of the dungeon, where spawn rooms and more enemies in group can be found.
It isn't long until we come across a 3-way intersection with 7 frogmen guarding each pathway. Fartumal chants, activating his Shielding Skill again.
I use Mana Sponge, activate both Invisibility and Shadow You. The room is pretty narrow, but there's still room for one of them to slip last uncontested.
Nerriwyn lets loose an arrow, killing a frogman before he reaches the shield defense. My clone runs forward through the gap, activating invisibility as well.
He stabs an unsuspecting frogman's exposed stomach. The frogman gets stabbed but thrusts it's trident into the clone, dispersing the clone into a dark cloud.
I use my boots effect to dash forward while the frogman is dealing with my clone and slice his head off. Pausing momentarily, I reactivate Invisibility as I wait 15 seconds for the boots cool down, I use that time to glance at my team.
Orihana finishes her chant, giving us the healing blessing once again but there are 4 frogmen on Fartumal's defense, pushing him back.
Nerriwyn takes one more down leaving 3 and I decide to let them handle those as I rush their backline, keeping them from further pressuring him. I summon another clone who doesn't use Invisibility just running in, with me close behind stealthily following for an opening.
A frogman steps up to meet the clone, with my clone taking the initiative by jumping with his dagger raised to slash down at the frogman, who simply thrusts his trident into the clone's chest, dispersing him.
I dash forward in front of the frogman, my weapons arching in front of me slicing the monster's stomach.
As the frogman drops dead, I hear the twang of an arrow, followed by a thud, turning my head at the noise to see she's already dealt with 2 frogmen, leaving just one.
I run behind the last monster and stab it in the back, ending the battle. Fartumal lets out a sigh of relief, "I was kind of in trouble there as they were pushing me back.
I felt like we improved a lot since the last battle. I'm going to have to call it there though, we should recover what we can and head out."
We all agree to his decision as I hand everyone a mana potion, in case we encounter enemies on the way out.
I begin to collect the frogmen fingers as Nerriwyn collects any usable arrows with Fartumal's help. Orihana peeks over my shoulder as I'm sawing off their fingers. "What are you doing?"
"Collecting their fingers as someone in my party can use them to make a useful potion. I don't need that many more if you needed help with something."
"Oh no, I just didn't have anything to do, and he was helping her and saw you were doing something and thought I could help you but...."
She trails off, I notice she's looking at the bloody knife I'm using to cut off their fingers. "Can you not use a knife?"
Her face turns red while staring at the knife, "No it's .... never mind."
She gets up and walks over to Nerriwyn. Processing what just happened in my head as I finish the current hand, I'm on I can only conclude that she was actually scared of the sight of blood.
We finish what we're doing then backtrack to the main dungeon door without encountering any monsters.
We decided to meet up back at the guild the next day to dungeon hunt and head back to the city. Reaching the city, we went our separate ways, where I headed to the inn to find that Garbhan wasn't there. I unwind by eating a fish stew that they served for dinner and head off to bathe then rest the long day off.
