Chapter 6 - Chapter 6- Igramus

Word of the newborn heir spread like wildfire throughout the Ferngrow mansion, but the news was contained within the city itself.

Very few outside the city knew of Eric's identity, due to Abin's influence.

In the seven years I've been growing up in the mansion, besides short walks in our garden, I wasn't allowed outside much. I'm guessing they have some really unsavory characters they don't want interfering with me. The bonus though, is that compared to my previous life, they spoil me in this one.

Everyone lost it when I began to stand at an early age, even more so when I began to walk.

I decided that instead of going for the smart, pretentious kid, I went for cute and innocent. Now I don't even have to feed myself anymore. I have 3 beautiful maids that rotate through the week to do that for me. My favorite moment was when I decided to make my first word, boob, and my dad got blamed by my mom for teaching me such a word.

Since I showed above average intelligence, my parents hired me a tutor at the age of 5 to start my education early. So far, I've been taught how to read, write, the history of our land, the politics, and the classes I hate the most, the proper noble etiquette.

The language was largely like English, with a couple of words being different, nevertheless it was easy to learn since I already knew it before. Learning proper noble etiquette was also easy, it was just the dancing classes that was tedious. Remembering how to act at formal events and what to say was all too easy with my memory.

I was taught that the world I'm in now is called Ingramus, which consists of eight different continents, each with an assortment of races. The Ferngrow family lived in the city of Wynroris and the country we lived in was called Iankian, hosted the majority of the elven race.

Humans and beast-kin lived here as well, but the dominant race was elves. Counting Iankian, there are only five continents that have been recorded with any known race that can communicate.

There's the continent, Xornathin, named after the Demon Lord who settled the first demon kingdom there. It consists of demons, vampires and humans.

The biggest continent has dragons, dwarves, and the majority of the beast-kin race. Its continent is split between three different countries with each race in an uneasy truce at the moment.

The dragons dominate the country called, Rytharras, in honor of their Dragon Lord who laid claim to the world's largest mountain. The dwarves govern Bhelmor, named after the Dwarven Lord who fought fiercely to lay claim to the most mountians that contained seemingly never-ending gems. While the beast-kin claimed the plains below the mountains in a country named Jo'marash.

The farthest continent was Verthag Gruak, which had Orcs and Orges. Finally, there was the purely human continent Fairleigh, named after the first holy knight Fairleigh the Conqueror, who united humankind.

There was another continent named The Monstrosity, which so far hasn't been properly explored due to the large numbers of monsters found there. The other continent locations are currently unknown but can be verified that they exist.

My tutor also taught me that everything in Ingramus so far has the ability to use magic. Each race, with the exception of demons and vampires who unlock one at birth, are able to unlock a class when they reach the age of 10. From picking their class they gain their first spells or skills from the correspondent class. Every country has their specialty of classes.

For example, since elves are the majority here, they usually pick Archery, Alchemy, and Naturalist. Dragons prefer to choose Aurasmiths, Demons like to use Necromancy and the Assassin class.

Dwarves typically pick Blacksmith and favor the guardian class. Beast-kin mainly chose the Boxer class and Bruiser class. Orcs normally picked the Barbarian class while Orges picked the Arcane class.

You were able to pick any class at 10, but some countries outlawed people with certain classes. The tutor taught me our countries politics as well, which I barely listened to.

They made it sound more dramatic but basically, 30 years ago, Elves started having birthing problems, therefore they turned to the humans that were in their country. The humans agreed to help as long as they could have a human leader within the nation.

So, the Elves sent Syndra and the humans sent Abin. This city and the surrounding area were supposed to represent the true coalition of Elves and humans. Since that agreement, the Elven birthrate has gone up by fifteen percent.

After teaching me about the different classes, my tutor left a book talking about all known classes. Taking a look, it showed the starting spells for each class and where classes can normally be found.

Reading some of the classes, I quickly learned that a lot of them were overpowered. The Arcane class allowed you to use pure magic, and dealt with the laws of the world, like space and time. Higher level Arcanist were known to create their own pocket dimensions.

The only downside was that Arcanist needed to use chants and runes to operate their spells. I knew I was going to be a mage but there were a lot of choices in the mage section. I can afford to take my time to make a decision, it's like 3 years from now.
