Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: Conspiracy

"Since the beginning, well, since the time Sara chose you, we made a plan." Frotus spoke as the woman's entire body distorted.

The space around them were mostly just a noise, something that Rueben cannot yet understand nor perceive.

"That plan was to give you all the necessary information, then work together to take down that wench." Frotus pointed to the woman.

"I don't know what that wench's name is, but from what i have gathered over the millenniums, she might be a godly being of sorts. But for some reason, she cannot use the entirety of her powers and was forced into hiding here."

"We were about to continue the original plan, but then you found a variable." Frotus pointed to Gwynne floating in the air.

"For reasons unknown, the wench sees that woman as a Successor, something that she can use to pass down her powers to. Was she hiding her for years? Centuries even? We haven't seen someone like that enter."

"It's coincidental that she somehow appeared, much more when she saved you down there." Frotus coughed as his arm that was touching Rueben's back slowly disappeared.

"Everything went downhill after you met her. Our entire plan went to shit, and even the beast at the depths of the blood lake minimized itself and hid inside you, biding its time to strike."

Frotus then turned to the woman.

"That wench, no, your friend is now undergoing an Ascension Ritual in order for her 'Status' to rise and be able to properly inherit the woman's memories. Within her memories are also her entire proficiency of the Concept of Space and Time."

Rueben stared at him, before opening his mouth with great difficulty.

"As....cen....i....on?"

Frotus looked back to him.

Then he let out a soft sigh.

"A ritual to further heighten your "Status". Status is your own level of this plane, your "Existence". Normally, mortals can't heighten their Status and have to rely on external energies to heighten it. But in the current Era, the opportunity to evolve into a higher plane of existence is opened up, thus mortals are given the chance to become beings of higher states."

"The Ascension Ritual is one of many ways to heighten your Status. There are other methods but its best you rely on this Ritual. Just like its name, you will Ascend into a higher plane of existence but you are still "Mortal" not "Immortal", this also comes in immense boost in both physical and mental abilities. Depending on your potential, you are able to use a Concept."

Frotus stopped for a moment, his eyes looking to the side before swiftly turning to Rueben, "That is all i can say to you now. I am not permitted to tell you more lest you go mad with this forbidden knowledge."

Rueben stared at him, wanting him to explain more but Frotus ignored him.

His entire arm was now gone but Frotus leaned down and whispered something in his ears silently.

Rueben listened silently.

The woman held Sara in her arms, softly as if she was afraid that Sara would break. In her arms, Sara looked forward with no thoughts on her head, her eyes dissolved of any emotion.

The woman pushed her arms to caress her cheeks, then moved to her head. Looking at her favorite child for a moment, she turned to Gwynne with a smile.

"The first." She spoke softly.

She knelt down on one knee and placed Sara on the floor, infront of Gwynne.

Gwynne, still in a fetal position while mid air, shook softly as her entire skin was already covered with blood as tentacles squirmed beneath her skin, reconstructioning her entire being.

The woman reached out to touch Sara's chest, before plunging her hand inside. Then she grabbed a red string from her heart and held it high up.

The string was a liquid, it was blood. The woman stared at the blood soaked Gwynne as her skin reach out to the string. Then it attached itself to the string of blood as the woman stood up.

Then she turned to the beast that was stuck in place, as if he was stuck in time, unable to move.

The woman silently walked towards the beast and soon arrived infront of it. The beast stared at her in the eyes with no fear in them as its mouth let out a grin.

"So you mean to use my body as a vessel for that woman?"

The woman let out a smile and nodded her head softly, agreeing to what the beast had said.

[Though you possess the potential to become a "God", that does not mean you will truly become one without any sacrifices. Most mortals who have the potential to be a God dies, and even if one does survive against all that, there are other Gods that would try to stop you from ascending.]

She raised her left arm up in the air, reaching for something before she clenched her palm.

[It is impossible for mortals without the help of other Gods but even then, just trying to ascend would break your psyche and devour your entire existence. Only leaving a shell of a husk behind to let the world know that you once existed in this plane of dimension.]

[However, if i gather the parts that are able to surpass the potential to become a God and make a body with it? Then my youngest child could have higher chances of becoming a True God.]

The woman then turned her head down to look at the beast before patting it in the head.

[Well now, i better get going. The faster i do this, the sooner my youngest child would be borne.]

She slapped her two palms together and knelt down. Then she touched the beasts chest before gently raising her hand up high in the air.

The beast didn't flinch nor do anything. It was as if it didn't want the woman to know that he was in pain.

A black like liquid raised up and stayed below the woman's hand.

"....I expected this to be far more painful, but colour me surprised. It does not."

The woman chuckled.

[I am a being beyond your comprehension, child.] She spoke softly as she let out another giggle as her eyes turned green.

[Oh Frotus.] She softly muttered as she connected the liquid to Gwynne.

Frotus stared at her from behind, his entire torso slowly dissappearing into dust but he just stared at her while holding a wand. He looked at her with no emotions on his eyes as he raised his hand and pointed the wand at her.

The woman only stared at the wand for a moment, before her eyes became dazed for a second.

The beast swiftly opened its mouth as a sharp needle made from its bones formed inside. Then it blew, making the needle shoot towards the woman's head.

The woman's eyes soon went back to normal but the needle had already gone past her skull, digging straight into her brain and getting out from the other side.

The woman flinched for a moment, before black blood flowed from the hole made by the needle, the woman coughed up blood as she knelt down.

Her eyes shaking as her entire body trembled in shock.

[Just kidding.]

The woman smiled and stood up, her eyes turning crescent in amusement. She stared at Frotus, who had a shocked expression on his face as if the plan hadn't worked.

The woman chuckled as she stared at him. Then she looked towards the beast before turning back to Frotus once more and opened her mouth to speak.

[It was quite a plan, child.] She praised with a smile.

[Only if it weren't so simple.]

Frotus gritted his teeth in anger.

Just as the woman was about to grab him, her eyes suddenly burst into worms. Her cheeks suddenly ballooned up and she spat out countless worms.

She knelt down in shock, feeling the worms climbing up from beneath her skin as she spat out another volume of worms.

The worms squirmed around on the floor, oozing out a stick goo that would stretch when you touch it. It was yellow green in color, looking more like vomit than anything else as countless other worms squirmed around.

Each time she spat out a volume of worms, she would also spill countless liters of this sticky goo, making her mouth gooey and sticky.

The worms squirmed around for a moment, before they started crawling towards the woman.

The woman choked for a moment, before turning to Frotus to see Annatella behind him. She stared at them for a moment before letting out a cackle.

[Of course, of course!!] Her voice reverberated across the labyrinth, loud enough for everyone to hear her cackling laugh.

[An illusion, of course! To cover up a ritual!]

Then she turned to the side where Jun and Jamaica was, behind them were a large circle with an S and a reversed S paint inside the circle.

Along the circle were carcasses of living worms of all kinds. Below these worms were a cup that was filled to the brim with oil. The oil was alit, boiling the worms inside but the worms were still alive.

[A ritual to a being beyond this world!]

She then dug her hand into her chest and pulled out what seemed to be a worm that continously gave birth to the worms inside her body.

The woman looked at Frotus in the eyes.

[What were the yields you gave to him to get that mindless worm to help you?]

Jun and Jamaica stared at her for a moment as their entire form squirmed, the two then locked eyes with Frotus and nodded their head solemnly.

"I."

"In the name of the Worm of Lords, The Parasite Between Dimensions and, the Evil Beneath the Emperors, Ruok!"

"Shall use our bodies and soul in exchange for erasing the target named Aclypiusthese, The Great One of Distorted Timescape!"

The ritual circle shivered for a moment as the entire labyrinth trembled, as if an earthquake was happening. Then a large eye opened from the circle, it looked at the two of them, then to the woman, then to the center before closing its eye.

The eye disappeared and a black worm appeared into existence, the two wisps looked at each other, then grabbed the two worms and put them into their forehead.

Frotus gritted his teeth as he watched this unfold. Annatella was already showing the woman another illusion that was far from whatever had just happened.

All this time, she had thought his plan was only for them to kill the woman who wanted to be their mother but now, it was complicated.

She wanted to punch Frotus in the face but she knew that infighting would only worsen their situation right now.

They have to kill this woman entirely or they risk being tortured into this place for even more billion years.

But this doesn't mean she doesn't understand why they were doing this! Making a deal with an outsider was the same as making a deal with the Tainted Wing, it was ludicrous.

Frotus must have something else on his mind. She must trust him. He must be planning something.

She told herself, trying to rationalize sacrificing two of their friends to a terrifying being just to kill the woman.

Annatella turned her eyes to look at the wand that Frotus was holding, before letting out a sigh.

Their casualties was only Hershey. Thank the Heavenly Sun God.

Frotus looked at Jun and Jamaica drilling the worm to their heads as the woman once more spat out another volume of worms, her entire skin moving from inside out as worms squirmed around her.

He stared at her with a cold face devoid of expression.

Now, it was time.

It was time to take down a God.
