All the Kobolds had varying complexions. Some had greenish scales covering their bodies, while others, especially those in the front, had a reddish hue to their skin.
Sarah and John immediately went on guard, stepping back, while Lucas and Jerry moved forward.
One of the Kobolds charged briskly toward them, its long claws poised to attack.
Halfway through its dash, a glow emanated from its hand, and its already long claws elongated even further.
"Jerry!" Lucas shouted.
In response, Jerry roared and ran in front of Lucas, raising his shield with a defiant smirk that only seemed to aggravate the Kobold further.
*"You think this can stop me?! Dream on!"*
The Kobold closed the gap within seconds, swiping its glowing claws toward Jerry's shield.

The sound of metal striking metal echoed, and Jerry's eyes widened in surprise.
