"This is where the real plan starts," John explained, a determined look in his eyes. "We need to create a natural airflow to feed the fire and prevent it from exhausting. I call it the Ventilation Tunnel."
With a swift motion, John used his spear to draw a line in the ground, extending from the pit in a westerly direction. He then proceeded to dig a shallow trench along the line, about 3 feet long and a foot wide. The trench acted as a channel to direct the airflow into the fire pit.
"Now, we need to make sure the trench connects with the pit," John continued. "We want the wind to be channeled directly into the fire to enhance its strength."
Lucas nodded, starting to grasp the concept. The other hole that John was calling a 'trench' would make winds come inside the hole directly enhancing the fire in the process.
