Avyanna woke up panting.
She felt the area around her neck.
It hurt badly.
She quickly got to her feet and scanned the surroundings.
They were out of the forest.
There was no creepy mansion...
No terrifying witch.
It was like it was never there. Like it never existed .
She saw Levi. A little a way from where she stood lying on the ground with eyes shut . He looked perfectly fine.
The memory of his blood shot eyes came back into her thoughts .
She glanced at him again.
He looked normal. Like his usual self . She might have just been hallucinating , Avyanna reasoned , since she was in Gothel's killer grip. But one thing Avyanna was suddenly realizing was that for someone she'd spent so much with....
She didn't know one thing personal about him. She didn't know his last name , his favorite colour, his best food.
Or ...
Maybe he didn't want her to know.
Levi turned to face her. A cool evening breeze blew past them.She was studying him. he noticed.
"Ha !"He exclaimed "You're Alive . And there I'd thought you were a goner .
Avyanna was about to reply, when Conrad and Kyra came running in.
"At last. Freedom" Conrad cried as he kissed the ground .Kyra sat down close to her and chatted her up on the events that took place after she had left to save Levi. Kyra had taken Control over Rosalind's body to be able to escape and once she was at a safe distance, Kyra's consciousness returned to her own body .Then at that particular moment , Kyra looked up at the vast sky .
At least the nightmare was over.
Levi pushed himself to his feet."I reckon after that hectic day we just had, we deserved some rest, cause I'm so exhausted
"I could die for hot bath " Avyanna heartily chirped in. Whether or not she didn't know him personally, She knew him right now and right now...
He was a good friend.
Although Levi was in fact speaking, his mind wasn't in fact really there. He was replaying his previous actions some hours ago.
Gothel knelt before inbreeding profusely. "Please" she said barely audible.
"Spare me " .
Levi turned a blind eye to her condition. He had given her a chance before but she abused it.
Gothel knew that no amount of tears she shed now, Levi wasn't going to be moved.
"Before you kill me , at least tell me this ..." Gothel entreated . "Why did you leave me?
Levi looked at her with no feeling in his eyes."It wasn't about you. There are some things left better , unexplained "
Gothel peered at him. "This is not the you I remember. What are you?"
Gothel thought she could pull a fast one on him. She attempted to strike him when she felt a sharp pain in her chest.
Levi had shot his hand through her chest and took out her heart.
Like I said, better left unexplained."
Levi squeezed the darkened heart until it turned into dust and so did Gothel leaving only the grimoire on top of ashes.
He had buried it in the forest. That book was very dangerous if it fell into the wrong hands. It was better kept hidden.
The quad walked away , leaving the forest and all the worries and troubles behind.
Maybe not all.
"So are you going to ask him ?" Conrad raised an eyebrow with his hands behind his head.
" About what?" Avyanna retorted trying to act confused .
"This morning ...Don't you want to know?" He yawned
"Nah" Avyanna smiled ." I think I should trust him. And besides , there are something's better left unknown."
"Cool" Conrad smiled.
The chief couldn't hide his joy when he saw his daughter. He never believed he would set his eyes on her again. He called her name and Rosalind ran to meet her father with tears flowing down her cheeks like a river . She hugged her father tightly.
"I am so happy to see you father . I never though I'd make it out of that evil witch's snare but these people saved me " Rosalind said emotionally .
The Chief hugged her with smile on his face and replied his dearest daughter and only child . " I am so happy to see you too, my child ".
"How can I ever repay you" he asked in delight , now referring to the little group
"You can start by paying us" Kyra pointed out .
He beckoned on a Guard who handed over the money to them as the Chief thanked them once again .
Rosalind excused herself and left her father. She climbed up the stairs to her chambers. She was so exhausted after what she had been through . She needed a good night sleep. When she had finally gotten to her room , Her heart gladdened that she was back home but deep inside her, a little part of her didn't feel safe in her room anymore.
She sat on the bed thinking when the door was pushed slightly opened.
"Where's is Levi?" Kyra asked .
Avyanna shook her head in the negative .
But she had a pretty good idea .
She excused herself from the others and went up to the princess's chamber.
Avyanna had arrived at her room she was about to knock on the door when she heard moaning sounds she slighted nudged the door and took a peek.
Avyanna smiled to herself
He was going to change one day.....
'Nah' She scoffed.He was never going to change.
