Asmoed was right; his minion melted and turned into dust. "What will happen to you if you kill your brother?" she asked Asmoed.
He grinned and said, "There is always the first time, and I am the only demon who killed his own. The dark ruler and his mistress were after me," he added.
Venus sighed and felt that the invisible protective barrier had grown stronger, but still wasn't enough. "I was just pirating a demon to work for me. I think your boss would get his revenge on me. You're supposed to be on his team, not mine," she joked.
"It's a survival game, my lady. I need you to survive. The dark ruler knew it, but he was pissed off because I acted on my own. I tried to move away from you many times, but every time I did it, I lost my mind."
"Feel free to stay with me; I accept every help, even from a demon, to save my daughter, you're AWOL now," she grinned.
