"The seeker was using her own daughter for her goal. The former queen was possessed by her mother. I have a theory that a remnant of herself—or maybe her soul—was inside her daughter. The mate bond was very strong; not one single human, wolf, or even demon could fight it, but the former queen did. She trampled on the mate's bond like it was nothing to her because a huge part of her residing within her was not hers anymore. Her soul was contaminated by the seeker's remnant, and she was acting like a seeker."
The high priestess looked at the mountains again, sadly. "She was my friend; she was so innocent and pure when she came here. The curses she collected and learned blackened her heart.
