Chapter 3 - The Shares

"And you are?" Quan Meng didn't know how to react for a moment when she heard the pristine, deep male voice.

"Huo Ling. We've just met," The man introduced himself while using his long fingers to massage the spot between his eyebrows. Didn't this person do some research when looking for a marriage partner?

"Oh!" Quan Meng was stunned. The man's handsome face appeared in her mind. She opened the small red book urgently, and on it was written the name "Huo Ling." Why was his surname not Liang? However, when she thought further, she remembered he was the maternal uncle, so his surname would definitely not be Liang.

Quan Meng laughed awkwardly. "I'm sorry, Mr. Huo. I forgot. I'll remove you from the blocked numbers list now."

After a long period of struggling, the two of them finally added each other as friends. The other side immediately sent an address.

Quan Meng saw that the address was an apartment in the city center. It wasn't at a very high-end locale, but the price there wasn't cheap either.

Why was Liang Ye's uncle living in such a place? Quan Meng was a little bewildered. She wasn't being discriminatory, but surely a family that could get married to the Liang family couldn't possibly not have a villa?

Perhaps afraid that Quan Meng would misunderstand, Huo Ling added a few more lines.

[Don't worry. You can stay in the guest room. I won't touch you. This arrangement is just to deal with the family.]

[I've sent you the password to unlock the door. I hope you can move in as soon as possible.]

[I would like to request you to keep a low profile, Miss Quan.]

Quan Meng replied with an "Okay," as she had the same intention.

She didn't want to reveal the news of her marriage to Liang Ye's uncle too early. It was more exciting to wait until the last moment to give him a fatal blow.

Quan Meng immediately asked the taxi driver to change directions and return to her previous home at the family's residence to pack her things. Although she had moved out a long time ago, there were still some important things that she had left behind. Back then, she didn't take them because she thought it was too troublesome. Now, she could take the opportunity to go back and pack.

She had more or less finished all her work in the office anyway, so it was not impossible for her to work from home online for the remaining work.

For some reason, Quan Meng's mother, Yan Min, and Quan Yi were both at home today. They were also a little shocked to see Quan Meng suddenly return.

Quan Yi felt that Quan Meng was here to condemn her, so she immediately came over with tears in her eyes. "Younger Sis, don't blame me anymore. I didn't mean to snatch Liang Ye from you, but he told me he only sees you as a younger sister and that you were the one who insisted on pestering him."

"What is there to talk about between you and that heartless person?" Yan Min interrupted Quan Yi's crying and glared at Quan Meng fiercely.

Sometimes, Quan Meng even wondered if she was the biological child of the Quan family. She and Quan Yi were clearly the offspring of their parents, but the difference in treatment she received was as vast as heaven and earth.

"Don't worry. I'm just back to pack my things. I'll leave immediately and never appear in front of you again." Quan Meng didn't have time to watch the two of them put on their act, so she turned around and went upstairs.

When she passed by the coffee table, she saw what the Quan family's mother and daughter had been reviewing. It was the stock transfer agreement.

The words "share transfer agreement" were written clearly in big font on the document.

Quan Meng stopped in her tracks and picked up the document.

Yan Min and Quan Yi were clearly nervous, because in that agreement, Yan Min was the one who transferred the shares, and the receiver's name which was signed on it was an elegant "Quan Yi."

Her mother was transferring all 10% of her shares.

"Younger Sis, don't think too much." Quan Yi's tears were about to fall from her eyes. "I'm going to report for work at the company soon. Mom is afraid that I'll be bullied…"

Quan Yi looked very pure and innocent. With her straight, long black hair, she was the kind of elusive love interest that boys could never forget. However, as the Chairman's daughter, who would dare to bully her? Without even using her brain to think, Quan Meng knew that her older sister was referring to Quan Meng.

"Why are you explaining to her? I can give my shares to whoever I want! Do I still need to ask for instructions?" Yan Min said in a self-righteous manner. "Yiyi is going to report for work at the company tomorrow. If I give her more shares, no one would dare to make things difficult for her!" The last sentence was obviously directed at Quan Meng.

It turned out that Yan Min, Quan Yi, and Quan Meng only had 8% of the shares each. Back then, Quan Meng was still young, so Yan Min had to use devious means to snatch away 2% of the shares from Quan Meng. Quan Meng didn't expect that her mother would transfer all of it to Quan Yi now.

That meant that Quan Yi now had 18% of the shares. She was the second biggest shareholder after her father. Yan Min really loved her daughter!
