Chapter 21 - Slow life | Ryuu 2

Sky blue eyes, golden hair and a fairy-like face.

A notorious second tier adventurer elf that has a 80,000,000 Valis bounty in her head.

Once a member of the renown Astraea Familia for upholding justice.

Now…

She's nothing but a waitress in the Hostess Of Fertility.

She is…

Ryuu Leon, Gale Wind.

She did not hide herself in front of Kai.

She wanted to be honest about who she really is and in doing so she revealed everything.

Yet instead of disgust or fear what she got from Kai is his characteristic gentle and knowing smile.

"It must have been tough on you all this time."

He said looking at Ryuu in the eyes.

Her sky blue eyes look back to his majestic golden eyes.

The two stare at each other for a few seconds before Ryuu all of a sudden let out a low chuckle a gorgeous smile of glee on her fairy-like face.

"You really are strange you know that?"

She said to Kai.

"Well I always heard that…"

Ryuu nodded.

"How about we start?" – Kai.

"I'm all ready…" – Ryuu.

"Then lady's first…" – Kai.

Ryuu face Kai in her hands was her main weapon Alf's Lumina a branch of a sacred tree from her home forest Ryumilua that was smuggled in Orario and was handed to her by Ardi, Shakti's (captain of Ganesha Familia) little sister that died during the great feud years ago.

Ryuu told him, a sad smile on her face, that was then quickly replaced by a serious one.

"You're taking this seriously!"

"I can't let my guard against you can't I.

You're far above me in almost every aspect except for my stats.

I am not careless enough to look down on someone just because they have yet to receive Falna."

Saying so a distant memory once again resurfaces in her head.

The memory of her friend dying in the hands of a normal person she was trying to help.

Shaking her head Ryuu was once again focused as she continued.

"Moreover, IF that Falna less person is you."

She said a knowing smile and a slight grin on her expression.

"You should smile often, you look more beautiful and cute when you do so."

Kai said, stunning Ryuu and then it happened.

He appeared just beside her, the tip of his fingers was extended on her neck.

Snapping out from the shocked she received from being called beautiful and cute, and the fact that Kai just trick him Ryuu's face turned beet red from both embarrassment and slight anger.

"Y-you cheated…"

She said in indignation swinging her Alf's Lumina at Kai without holding back.

Kai quickly reacted teleporting out of Ryuu's range.

"You should be careful of that thing, that's dangerous you know…" – Kai said, a grin on his face.

"What was that for?"

Ryuu asked, her face still beet red.

"What were you referring to? Is it my ability to appear and disappear, anywhere and anytime I want or…" – Kai's grin widening.

"This guy…" – Ryuu gritted her teeth a pouting expression on her face.

She closed her eyes concentrating.

Opening them she disappeared from her spot appearing just right beside Kai trying to imitate the action he did to her earlier.

Kai grinned.

She did not teleport unlike Kai, it was her focusing everything in speed as she moved like the wind, her speed almost breaking through the sound barrier.

'So this is the power of a adventurer. I don't know how strong Ryuu is compare to others but it's amazing.'

Kai knew he couldn't cope up with Ryuu in terms of stats so he decided to do things his way, unleashing his absurd techniques.

Just as Ryuu's Alf's Lumina was about to reach him, he disappeared.

Suddenly losing her target Ryuu was caught off guard.

Kai's movement moments ago when he took advantage of her isn't speed but magic that just as he said allows him to move anywhere at anytime.

However, this time it clearly isn't magic.

--- Side Track ---

Techniques aren't so well developed in Danmachi as most people rely too much in their stats that they forgot the honing of their mastery.

So the development of techniques were only at the most basic levels.

Even gods themselves are the same.

They are born so powerful that they did not bother searching for other alternatives to grow stronger or develop their strengths.

Not to say they are immortals.

So what's the point of trying to improve their powers.

Even as simple as comprehending their own divinities that they were born with it took them thousands of years unless a unique encounter or circumstance took place just like what Freya experienced first hand yesterday.

Her feeling of true love for the very first time and not some random bullshit she kept spouting every time she wanted to be entertained by someone she claims as unique.

Kai appeared behind Ryuu, his hand pointed at her neck.

"You lost again."

He said to the shocked Ryuu.

Snapping out from her shock once again Ryuu looked at him and she asked.

"What was that?"

Hearing her question Kai giggled copying Syr's giggling.

"You know we can't have a serious match if you kept asking things!"

"Just answer me this time please, I've already lost twice anyway."

Saying so she embarrassedly and awkwardly scratched the back of her head.

"You should have been dead twice in my hands.

You said you wouldn't underestimate me but you clearly hold back against me.

You only exerted 38% of your real power."

Kai said a serious look on his face.

"38 what…?" – Ryuu questioned.

'Right I am in a different world, everything is different the same goes for knowledge and understanding of things.' – Kai thought.

"Ignore that. Either way your holding back too much against me didn't you!"

Kai said to Ryuu where she replied with a nod then saying.

"I only use level 2 power, but I've exerted my power up to the peak of level 3 when I dash at you."

--- Kai POV ---

So that's level 2 power and peak level 3 speed.

Only at this low of a level but already have enough power to put down high mages back on Earth before they could react.

/High mages can destroy an entire town back on Earth with a single spell./

It's comparable to a early stage master's swordsman on Earth.

In this world people relied on leveling up and improving their overall stats.

On the other hand back on Earth people honed their mastery to the limit then create arts and skills to increase their power.

Each world has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Then what would happen if I were to fused both world's advantages wouldn't that make me invincible under the heaven.

Hahahaha…

Now I sounded like some arrogant cultivator.

--- End POV ---

"Ryuu, what level are you right now?"

Kai asked.

"I'm at level 4."

She replied without a second thought.

'She can already move at a speed that almost reached the limit of the sound barrier at level 3.

Then if she use the power of a level 4 can she broke through the sound barrier?'

Kai thought looking at Ryuu with sparkling eyes.

/Kai forgot once again that he's in a different world./

/The sound barrier of Danmachi is far higher than Earth but he didn't know this./
