Chapter 4 - Heroic Image | Goblin Shaman

I need to recreate new elemental circuits and magic circuits, manipulating energy through one's will only is inefficient.

The control and focus I need to distribute in manipulating the energies is taxing.

Moreover, I currently do not possess a core, directly controlling the surrounding natural essence could only grant me this enough power.

If I wanted to harness more power I need to first establish my foundation.

This world's laws, orders, and concepts while not the same back on Earth it isn't that far apart.

Regaining my former prowess back on Earth shouldn't take me that long.

"Um…"

A soft voice sounded beside me…

Oh right I forgot about her.

"Are you ok?"

He reaches his hand to the knight? No… probably an adventurer.

She hesitated, her face a bit red and flustered for some reason.

I tried retracting my hand but the moment I did so she grabbed it.

I was surprised… she's weird.

She kept avoiding eye contact.

"Um, hello, I'm Tessa."

She looked straight to my eyes and introduced herself.

"Hello, miss Tessa I am Kai."

I introduce myself.

"Um, t-thank you for saving me, I owe my life to you…"

I shrugged the back of my head and replied.

"No worries, it wasn't much of a hassle. I just happened to be passing bye."

She nodded and said.

"It surely wasn't much for someone as strong as you, but I'm grateful. I really am."

I couldn't help but doubt her words a bit, when she kept on averting her eyes elsewhere while were conversing.

She's really odd…

Wait, recalling my charm that was supposed to rival the goddesses of beauty… now I understand.

No he did not understand… he misunderstood it.

"If you say so…"

I nodded.

She seems one of those people who'll do anything to repay their debt.

I guess this is more like it, this way I will get something from helping her.

"Say, miss Tessa where is this."

"You can just call me Tessa for sort I don't really like formalities."

She looked back at Kai.

'He seems to be a noble.'

She thought.

"Ok, if you say so."

I nodded.

She didn't like formalities, is she one of those nobles that doesn't want something to do about their families political struggle.

I've read many novels about such things back on Earth, and she has the looks of one.

From her gear and weapon she certainly looks like one of those noble children who had decided to go on an adventurer.

Not to say she's stunning, the same level as Kianna…

*Sigh*

What am I thinking?

Wait…

Gears, equipment, and weapons.

A realization dawn upon Kai.

I look at myself…

My face turned white as a sheet of paper.

I look at miss Tessa.

She realized that I just realized it.

She adverted her head.

Silence…

The atmosphere turned awkward.

No wonder she kept looking elsewhere, it was not due to my beauty, it was because I am naked.

Damn when did I become an exhibitionist.

My face twitched…

Ignoring the glances she's giving me I concentrate.

I focused on visualizing the structure of a fabric in my head.

Then…

*Poof*

Out of thin air a simple white shirt, belt, underwear, a pair of gloves, shorts, a pocket bag and a mask pop out of existence.

She looked at me with wide eyes in astonishment and shock.

I just give her a weary smile and not bother to explain myself.

I don't have the obligation to do so in the first place.

But for the readers… it was my magic [Origin Source Paragon] granting me power to do almost everything.

This included creating simple fabrics and leather.

Everything existing is made of unseen atoms.

Fabrics and leathers, even the body of a person were the accumulation of atoms compressed to the point that it took form.

And atoms were the essence that took a solid form.

In short atoms were also energy.

Kai's [Origin Source Paragon] allows him to do anything so to energy.

Complicated right… you can just say he can do almost anything.

The only limiting factor about him is the amount of energy he could control and harness, and his imagination.

Back to the topic…

"Um, sir Kai are you a mage?"

She asked me, the astonishment and surprise in her eyes is still there.

I couldn't really blame her, even though magic allows people to do almost anything, creating something out of nothingness isn't something normal.

"Miss Tessa, please don't misunderstood I'm not into that kind of stuff."

I tried breaking the awkward atmosphere.

"I understand…"

She nodded in reply.

But the doubt on her eyes says otherwise.

Dammit my image of a hero saving a maiden in distress is completely ruined.

Just where the hell did my clothes go though.

Nevermind…

Grww!

Grww!

"Miss Tessa, it seems like we were not done here."

I shifted my gaze to the new arrivals.

They have the same number as before, the only difference is that this time a goblin shaman is present.

"Can you still fight?"

I ask her just to make sure.

"Me… um, yeah."

She nodded.

"Good, I am a bit exhausted from the earlier battle, so you need to fend off for yourself…"

I haven't created my own energy core yet and the essence in the surroundings is a bit chaotic right now due to my earlier slaughter.

Controlling chaotic energy isn't really simple.

I can only do so much now.

"Yes, I understood…"

She seems competent at least.

"Good, I will take care of the hobgoblins and the goblin shaman, you take care of the small fries."

I pointed at the back.

"There's a goblin shaman…?"

Hearing that there's a goblin shaman she's terrified.

I guess it's natural for her to be terrified.

Based on the energy signature coming from that creature, it could have easily ended her if she were to face it.

"Wait please you can't, a goblin shaman is…"

I dash off to the place where the goblin shaman was.

"He's gone, that person… how can he move with such speed…"

Five goblins that were dressed like assassins appeared behind me.

"Hey, watch out…"

I tilted my head, on my hand a sword made of iron and copper emerged.

Slash…!

With a single swing the five hob goblin assassins were beheaded.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

Arrows flew straight at me from all sides.

I conjured a wind barrier cuz I don't have time to deflect the coming arrows.

These creatures are mad…

In front of me goblin warriors holding great axes and swords charge at me disregarding the rain of arrows.

The arrows were not a problem.

My newly created sword and the rusty axe of a goblin warrior collided.

The fella was forced back after a single clash.

I tried finishing him off but all of a sudden, dark curse chains emerge from the ground.

I was forced to step back, dodging the curse chains and the incoming attacks of the other goblin warriors.

The incoming projectiles everywhere were not a problem.

They even helped him cut the number of goblins around him due to their indiscriminate attacks.

"H-human… ku-ku, ku, s-surrender you're outnumbered… you don't have a chance of victory."

The goblin shaman spoke its voice hoarse like a broken radio.

"Oh ho, who decided that…"

Kai grinned.

The goblin shaman reminded him of the mages, sorcerers, magus, and church people that he faced.

They were arrogant, blinded by their power, and were overconfident about their numbers.

"I don't really like being look down, I guess being serious now and then should do the trick…"
