It was unfortunate that Amy, witnessed him having his nightmare. It has been a long time since he had not had one of those terrors. It is something that he doesn't want anyone to see, more so Amy.
"Don't worry about me, perhaps I was just tired because I had been working from yesterday till way past midnight. I can't even remember what was the dream about," he was hoping that Amy wouldn't catch his lie and would just dismiss that incident.
For him, he cannot even count it as dishonesty to her since it is something that he is not ready to share with her yet, but he was hoping that someday, he would be able to do so since he doesn't want to keep anything from her. It was a dark part of his childhood that he wanted to bury and if possible forget.
