Henry, driving the car, remained silent, occasionally expressing frustration through curses. Sensing Henry's anger and irritation, Amy refrained from asking questions and instead offered emotional support by gently rubbing his back or patting his leg or knee from time to time.
Henry valued her gesture greatly, often seizing the opportunity to hold Amy's hand when it rested on his leg and bestowing it with a tender kiss. After parking their car in the driveway, he released a deep sigh and then turned toward Amy.
