Athena POV
I spent what felt like forever in eternal darkness. I was able to see two glowing eyes and hear whimpering. I just knew it was my wolf. As I made my way to her slowly, I gently sat down in the total darkness petting her head slowly as she passed out I whispered it will be ok girl rest easy for now.
As I sat petting her head, I heard a noise.... It sounded like water.. I gently moved away and started to follow the sound. As I got closer I realized what it was as I started to come to feeling groggy. I heard rustling in the room. I heard a voice shouting in the hallway "nurse come quickly she's waking up" said the man gruffly.
I still had trouble making out the man's voice. Finally after a few minutes I was able to open my eyes. My whole body felt so stiff it almost hurt to move. My mouth was dry and my body hurt so much especially my arm. I felt my arm and felt I had an IV port put in and I hated it I wanted it out, but I didn't want to rip it out and chance worsening my already very hurt body.
My vision was still blurry, but I still remembered his touch as he held my face in his warm hands.I somehow knew he was here with me by my side. I cried as I realized how hard it was to move my body to hug him and the pain in my arm. Suddenly I just felt my body lift up into a pair of strong arms as he climbed on the bed and set me in his lap in one swift motion. I nuzzled my face into the crook of his neck and breathed him in as I felt my body relax. I knew this was Adam when I finally recognized the scent hitting me hard.
The nurse slowly moved towards me with her equipment, and I felt her hands gently touch me. "Athena honey, I'm nurse, Holly I'm just needing to get some vitals is that ok? Or do I need to give you a few minutes and bring some water?" Asked Nurse Holly in a gentle voice that told me she was a mother herself.
I moved my head a little bit to try and look at her, but vision was still blurry. I gently whispered "yes you may, thank you for helping me. Yes I would like to drink some water, and I'm hungry to."
She began looking at my iv port to make sure it was all good, She checked my oxygen, my pulse, and my wound. She used a light to look at the wound, but it looked so weird looking. " Are you using a light by chance?" I asked.
She looked up at me in concern, soon I saw the dim light pointing at my face but still was so hard to tell. In an instant she knew something was off. She wrote down everything and went to inform the Dr.
All I could do was sit and panic. Several minutes later Dr. Prin came in and began looking at my eyes. When she got down to my wound she didn't understand what was going on.She turned on the room light and began looking at my eyes, my wound, and everything else to see if something else was missed.
She found nothing, then she realized something. She looked at Adam and saw his eyes were a little off. She went and grabbed some drops, she began running a series of test as he laid back for her. She was able to finally figure it out, he had some dust from the silver from the fight. It was lined in Thorns fur and when he bit him and threw him it went in is mouth and face.
So when his vision went so did mine. She was able to flush out his eyes as his vision got better so did mine. No wonder my poor wolf was fighting so hard we still had silver weakening us. By the time we were done we were so exhausted that Adam and I just passed out laying in the hospital bed. He was ever so gentle to make sure to have me lay on the left side since everything was connected on the left.
I only woke up once when the nurse came in to check on us once more and I had felt her place a warm blanket on us.. It turned out to be my favorite blanket from him and Adam had asked my dad to bring it to the hospital for me. He thought it would cheer me up and brighten my stay just a bit.
I soon dozed back off not realizing that I was just so completely and utterly exhausted. The next morning when I woke up Adam was still asleep holding me tight. I needed to get up and use the bathroom but needed help getting up. I began moving to try and sit up....
"Hold still Athena it's alright." whispered Adam. He shifted quickly in bed so that he was able to get me on his lap in one fowl swoop and just like that he had me sitting up on the edge of the bed. He stood in a stance to help me up and it was as if he had been reading my mind he knew to go right for the bathroom.
Finally when I was ready to lay back down he walked with me making sure I didn't fall. I felt so helpless. When we laid back down I drifted off fast and with ease. Adam still laid with me wrapping his arms around my waist.
When morning came, and trust me I knew it did because I was able to see a beautiful pinkish red sky, and even though I knew it meant take warning, it was still intoxicatingly beautiful to me. I felt the sun's rays and as soon as the rays touched my skin it looked like I started to glow and the glow looked like the sun after it rained causing a rainbow effect.
When I turned to see if Adam was awake all I could see is that his eyes were huge... with his jaw dropped in awe.
Adam POV
I woke up still on the hospital bed seeing the bright sun coming in the room. I saw Athena standing by the window and the son shinning on her making her smile. She looked like she had a rainbow engulfing her body and all I could do was just drop my jaw in awe. I had no idea what to feel or think.
All I knew was I could feel her energy and her power growing. My wolf Shane jumped at Joy feeling her strength. We still had not mated and marked but simply because I was her mate I already felt my strength go up ten fold. After a few more minutes of being dazed and her looking her blushing I walked over to her embracing her around her waist as much as I could. The smell of her drives my wolf Shane crazy and made him so happy.
I was not happy when we heard a knock on the door and a nurse came in. Athena just sat down and let them take her vitals and run their tests. She had started healing so well they planned on sending her today. I was so happy she was doing so well.
A few hours passed as we were preparing to leave. The Dr came in to have one final word.
Athena had just come out of the bathroom from getting dressed and having the nurses remove her bandages.
When Dr. Prin came in she came in smiling and we hoped it was good news. " Well I have some great news you both healed remarkably for having traces of silver in your wounds. I have released you both today and you may leave after this, but from now on be extra careful with silver.... especially Athena. Since she is one of a kind silver affects her differently. We have no clue what it will do to her if you get scratched with silver. Your bond is exceedingly rare. They say it only happens to those of royal blood or it happens to only 1/1,000,000."
After another 5 minutes they had everything and left the hospital. Athena couldn't help but wonder if her mother or father had a royal blood line and if so how far back. All and All she couldn't help the feeling of going home sounding amazing to her.
