When I eventually awoke I was on something close to a highway. I rub my eyes and sit up, looking around. Nia's not far from me so I rush over to her and gently shake her awake.
"Mm…Bee? What happened? Where are we?"
"I don't know…but this place does feel familiar to me a little."
Nia sat up and tilted her head at me, her eyes saddened slightly. "Are you ok? I mean…your mom- "
"-had that coming honestly. She's done so much to me, ever since the car accident all those…years ago."
I look around again and blink rapidly. I do know this place. The trees, the skid marks on the road and the sign leading out of Lepi's grove towards West Virginia.
"Nia. This place…I do know it."
"What? Isn't it just some highway then?"
I shook my head at her and placed my hair bangs behind my ears.
