" Right side! I see three of them rushing!" Milo roared. He didn't have a shield so Jake was left to deal with the initial charge of these mutated wolves.
Jake rushed to the side to apprehend the enemy but at the same time, they heard Tang," Five on my side! I am switching to automatic!" She knew it was too late to switch to her shield. Even if she did, there was little chance for her to succeed so she decided to be aggressive.
Noah rushed to her side but maintain some distance from her. If situation got worse, he would leap into action but seeing the confident back of Tang, he decided to give her a chance.
Julia and Cody also saw group team struggling with onslaught of waves of wolves and switched to targeting them. They were tasked with dealing with distant enemies at first but Julia made some calculations and urged Cody to support her.
The reason why they didn't outright shoot these wolves was in fear of friendly fire. Anything could happen in the heat of the moment which was why, Noah asked them to target enemies at the back. They knew that they would be going against direct order in making such a decision but Julia was worried about her teammates.
Other than training them physically, Noah also instilled basics of being a soldier into their minds. Following orders was the top of that list, Cody was a little scared remembering Noah's angry face but he powered through his anxiety and followed Julia's lead.
Tang fired a volley of shots putting down three of them while they were charging towards her. She was calm on the surface but she knew that she had used most of the bullets in her magazine. There were two enemies which would reach her position in three seconds.
Her mind was working to the extreme trying to remember how many bullets were still in the chamber. She didn't have time to reload so she could only go on her hunch and fire three bullets on the right target before switching to the left to fire the remaining.

She pressed the trigger several times but there was no response. One second and she would be mauled by wolf's sharp fangs. Seeing how it was leaping in the air aiming for her head, she decided to take a chance and roll over to avoid the attack.
These wolves were massive, even if they couldn't change direction during their signature charge. They could flung their arms, giving them some room to scratch or even poke their enemies. Tang knew all about it, she knew many hunters who got overconfident in their abilities would lose their life because these wolves were cunning and ruthless.
Nonetheless, Tang took the gamble and rolled to the side lowering her body as much as possible. She felt the cold breeze as she got goosebumps all over her body. In the process of running away, she accidently exposed some part of her knee, the wolf managed to predict her escape which was why instead of head on collision, it extended it's arms to the side to cover a wider area.
With it's sharp claws protruding out of it's paws, anything that came in contact with it would be sliced up like tofu. Tang managed to avoid her upper body but the exposed knee came in direct contact with the claw.
" Argh." Tang let out a muffled scream feeling the sheering pain in her leg. She instantly knew what happened but she couldn't focus on her pain, at least not right now. She scrambled to take out the handgun. She was lying on left side so the gun was sandwiched between her body and the ground.
The wolf knew that something collided with it's claw but it wasn't a pleasant feeling that he would normally get slicing up it's preys. This time it felt like it was hitting a rock or something. It knew that humans were not made up of rocks but it must be something they were wearing which obstructed it's attack.
This time it would not give the humans any chance and aim straight to the heart. It turned around in a millisecond aiming straight at Tang who was lying on the ground. The millisecond that Tang needed to pull out her handgun from the difficult position, was lost as she saw the beast which was smiling menacingly with it's claws on the front aiming straight at her torso.
Tang knew that even if she managed to shoot it, the weight and momentum of the wolf would be enough to crush her at best she would be critically injured still she proceeded to fire her handgun. A total of three bullets lodged itself in the wolve's brain.
" Tang!" Jake and Milo exclaimed seeing the situation. They couldn't believe that by the time they were done with their three enemies, Tang managed to defeat a total of four and even avoided the infamous wolf's charge which was still impossible for them.
These agile mutated wolves were known for their speed, avoided them required a precise control of one's body as well as balls to know that the timing that one leap was right. Even the slightest hesitation would leave one injured or become minced meat for these predators.
They couldn't fire because of fear of hitting Tang and it was too late for them to run to her for help. They could only hope that their teacher would do something. From what they had seen from his battle at the top of the wall, he could go toe to toe with these beasts fighting with his bare hands!
* Bang!* Suddenly they heard another fire. It made the wolf's body stagger to the left but the momentum was not diminished much. With all the blood and the direction of the bullet, they knew that it was the sniper rifle. Such a clean hit was enough to kill the wolf but unfortunately it was too close to Tang.
She covered her eyes, waiting for her death when a even louder noise filled the surrounding. The wolf's body which was a meter away from Tang bend like a paper before it was forcefully flung to the side. It narrowly avoided Tang smashing to the ground with a loud thud.
