In a world suffering from economically, the government turned to science in search of a way to replenish their the money reserves in the up coming war. Through there experiments working on an unknown mammal that soon became know as the most ancient humanoid skeleton system ever recorded to date. Through further exploration they wanted to see if the could super charge the bones into releasing something new in there studies and little did the know those few changed the world for ever.
In their experiment they caused a fission reaction causing many to get caught up in a wave of energy that changed there DNA granting them something more. This change first appeared in young twins by the name of Ellis and Andrew Von Stoke creating what the world know nows as mutants and the naming of said new species gene now called the Stoker gene.
Most fortunate mutants looked like regular people tending to possesses incredible powers, allowing for superhuman feats like flight,mind reading, magnetic fields, or something more familiar like lifting immense amounts of weight. The government saw this as an opportunity in the rise of a new species. The mutants could easily replace human labor or fight in the front lines.
However, not everyone was pleased with the idea of using mutants as the next wave of cannon fodder. Some even argued that they deserved basic human rights and should be treated with respect. Others were more afraid of these powerful individuals rising up against their more human counterparts.
Thus began a battle between those who wanted to use the mutants for their own gain and those who sought to protect them from exploitation. It seemed like a nothing was changing until a group of mutants that possessed powerful mutations began to fight back against there oppressors.Eventually Winning the war for there species and creating a group called the Hell Fire Circle. They was an evil brotherhood of mutants know for killing off most of not all those that new of the Clubs existed.
Hoarse-men were formed dedicated to elimination of the mutant race. Over the span of ten years they classified them goes as the following.
Epsilon mutants either have a non-combative power or no real powers at all, but are like Gamma level mutants in that they cannot hide what they are. To count as an Epsilon level mutant, you have to possess very little to no special abilities and a mutation that extremely negatively affects your day-to-day life. Some mutants of this level are killed by their mutations, like Sally Floyd's daughter, who around a few months of age began growing in reverse Many examples of such mutants can be found in a community that choose to live in the sewers rather than among humanity.
Delta Mutants don't have any significant flaws. The only problem is that Delta mutants don't have powers that match an Alpha mutant, or even a Beta or Gamma mutant. At least 50% of mutants are Delta mutants making them the most common type of mutant. Most Deltas do not even know they are mutants. They look just like us.
Gamma mutants are very powerful mutants but they have flaws. Unlike the Beta mutants a Gamma mutant's flaw is a major flaw that makes their life very hard. Also, while Alpha and Beta mutants can pass as regular looking humans, Gamma mutants cannot because they have physical defects.
Beta Mutants are on the same level as Alpha mutants. The difference between Beta Mutants and Alpha Mutants is that the Beta Mutants have flaws, albeit very small flaws. The Beta mutants are also believed to be about 10% of the mutant population.
An Alpha level mutant is someone who looks no different from any other human being, and whose powers are pretty effective in combat. Likewise, they have no limitation placed on them as a result of their Stoker-gene.
Omega-level mutant is one with the most powerful genetic potential. Some abilities depicted by mutants described as Omega-level include immortality, extreme manipulation of matter and energy, high psionic ability, strong telekinesis, and the potential to exist beyond the boundaries of the known physical universe. No firm definition of there power cap.These are mutants whose power levels are such that they are considered the most serious threats, capable of wide-scale destruction and proving very difficult to take down, contain or kill.
Anyways the Alpha, Beta and Gamma class mutants are all roughly the same power level - it would be possible to have Alpha and Gamma class mutants with say super-strength who were completely equally matched but the Gamma one has purple skin with pink polka-dots.
As the 20th century came around the new version of the Hellfire Circle emerged reveling that mutants are done suffering. Suddenly multiple groups of mutants began to shoot up around the country terrorizing local towns and city's in there name. The circles plan was to concur the Americas but they were stupid to think they would do it so easily.
A mutant group emerged called the mutant society. It was a group that was capable of combating the Circle on even footing. Through super advanced technology the circle managed to create an continental explosion that gave everyone under the age of 20 the chance of awaking the Stoker gene. Even with the good actions of the mutants society the humans began thinking of them as a sadistic race with a special few helping the innocent mutants.
Most families treat mutants like they are aliens which cause most that manifest young to grow up terrified of humans leading them to join the sewer community.Not much is know about the community other than they go by the Sewer Dogs and that they do not like humans of any sorts friendly or not being in there territory. They have some type of strong illusion mutant or multiple that lead most off there trail and away from there camps.
