Chapter 19 - CHAPTER 19- The Impeccable Plan (2)

Ray in his soul form was following the people who were moving with the slave, right towards one of the several ambushes that were set up.

He had an amused smile on his face, while he wantonly appraised the five people.

'They don't have names, but a weird code in place of their names. Must have been trained by an organization since birth…'

Ray knew he had struck home this time. If he properly managed to infiltrate them, which he would, he knew he would find some huge secrets.

In the meantime, he had copied a skill from the slave.

[Skill: Perfect Disguise

Rank: SS

Description: Change your appearance, your voice, your presence and even your visible status and system. Only people with SSS ranked appraisal skills can find the truth. Deceive everyone whenever however you want.

Restriction: If someone conducts a memory search on you, you'll probably be busted.]

With this skill, he could hide his visible system. After all, if some wild appraiser suddenly found him with a legendary system while he was in a disguise, it would mean loads of trouble for him.

He also wanted the S ranked Existence Devour skill, but then decided on this one.

'If I play my cards right, I won't need it anyway!'

Finally, the group walked right into an ambush.

"Ambush! You, guard the slave, others, attack!"

While the woman guarded the slave, the other three started fighting the attackers.

Swords clashed, magic buzzed in the air, blood spewed and chaos ensued.

"Who are you people?", the 'leader' of the five people bellowed while he cut the arm of another person flocking towards him.

The group of attackers started hesitating slightly when they saw the strength of the people, but didn't stop.

"Let's see how long you can keep going!"

Ray was internally laughing while he watched it all happen.

'Two completely unrelated parties fighting in vain.'

After a few moments almost all the attackers had been wiped out and the group continued on its way.

But they had underestimated the ambush! The sounds of battle had drawn in all the people who were waiting in ambush to a single location.

"What? How many of these ants will we kill? Same strategy! They are not strong enough for us to hide! Kill them all!!"

"The first group has failed, they are strong as expected, bring in more people!"

And once again battle ensued. After a few more moments of intense fighting, a few people broke past the three people fighting in the frontlines to approach the slave.

"We've broken throu-"

Seeing the people approaching the slave, the woman guarding her rushed forward to deal with them.

"No you have not!"

The woman bellowed as she took out a dagger from her storage ring and charged straight in.

Unknowingly, rushing forward was probably one of the biggest mistakes of her life, as the moment she left the slave alone, Ray got his chance.

Ray immediately activated his SS rank enslavement magic on Claire, and a magic circle appeared beneath her feet.

The four people were fending off hundreds of attackers and a lot of magic spells were flying around, as such, no one noticed the magic circle in particular.

'They have conveniently covered her face; no one will notice the slave mark on her forehead light up for a few seconds.'

And after a few seconds, Ray could feel a mental connection with the slave.

He immediately ordered her to treat the previous man as her master and pretend to be her slave.

Now he could see through her eyes, hear through her ears and read all her memories. An SS rank skill was rare for a reason.

Right about now, the four people were facinf diffuculties trying to contain the hordes of people who kept coming. They had already injured more than a hundred and killed around thirty people, but they new groups of people kept swarming them.

The leader got restless.

'We've underestimated these people from the black market, they won't stop at anything to gain money... not even their life!'

"Everyone gather, I'll use the artifact! We'll wait and hide until the reinforcements arrive!"

Immediately the four people gathered around the slave.

A bright light flashed and they disappeared from the surroundings along with the slave, while the attackers scattered around in search for them.

"They're using an artifact! Keep searching!"

"Call in the last three groups! We can't lose them after all they injured so many of our people!"

Ray decided not to stay any longer.

He didn't know if the reinforcements of either side would have someone with a weird soul detection skill, and furthermore if he didn't wake up soon, the palace would become restless.

He willed his body to wake up, and immediately found himself in his body, sitting on his bed in the palace. Wide awake.

He was in an extremely good mood.

'Perfect execution.'

A lot of people dealing in illegal slave trading and theft had been killed today and he had placed a perfect spy into a hidden organization plotting who knows what in the background.

'But those four people were really strong… they could fight off more than a hundred people…'

'Well not like I care, I could do it alone.'

Satisfied with himself, he decided to just walk around and have some fun.

'I did a lot of work after all.'

Without deciding to do anything in particular, he walked out of his room and started roaming around the palace.

While Ray was roaming around the palace, Acrylia was in an uproar. The whole city now seemed to know that something was wrong.

Nobles were sending their guards to look into the matter, the organizations' leaders who ordered for the slave's capture were almost pulling their hair out after incurring massive losses, while the five people who were fighting the horde until now were now hiding with a legendary artifact.

While the group seemed to have actually lost nothing, the leader was sweating buckets.

The artifact was of one time use, and belonged to the captain above him. This was just another precaution and he was not actually supposed to use it.

Since he had used an important artifact in such an easy mission he knew...

'I'm fucked'
