Chapter 5 - CHAPTER 05-Peculiarity of the Systems & Plans

Ray was currently lying down on the large bed in his room. It was around twelve in the night and he was deep in thought.

'Nothing notable happened during the banquet.'

Yes, he also socialized with a few nobles, becoming familiar with all the dukes. He met people who were on the kill list he prepared in his last life with a smile but genuine sympathy in his eyes as he knew they would face fates worse than death.

Without letting anything else distract him he started recalling things he concluded in his third life.

Unlike 'good' and 'evil' systems, the sin systems were a bit different. They were unique because they had a 'choice' for the hosts.

A typical 'good' system would give quests like feeding a hundred people, helping people in need, and other heroic but stupid tasks for rewards.

A typical 'evil' system would give quests like destroying properties, killing people and even extreme stuff like cannibalism or genocide. The rewards were also aligning to the evil side.

While people with 'good' systems would do only good deeds and gain skills like 'Holy light', 'Mass heal' , 'Shield for the weak', 'Evil Vanquisher' and the such, they would keep getting more and more righteous, attaining the title of heroes.

In the same way people with 'evil' systems would do evil deeds and obtain skills like 'Mind Control', 'Mass Bombing', 'Poison Miasma' or even suicide skills like 'Nuclear self Combustion'. These people would get known as villains.

The sin systems worked in a rather typical way creating neither a hero nor a villain, but a hybrid with extreme free choice and flexibility.

Since someone could do only one quest at a time, the sin system would give people a quest with two different clear conditions and different rewards.

The pride system could give you a quest to defeat ten people in a battle, where you could either appear humble, duel each one and finally attaining their acknowledgement and goodwill, or you could appear filled with pride and ask them to come at you together and then humiliate them. If you cleared the quest in the first method, you would get a skill related to duels, and in the second case probably an AOE skill.

This was a rather modest example. Other systems like Wrath could just push you into a war between heroes and villains and you choose your own faction and gain your own skills.

There are even special conditions where you create a third faction and wipe out both, obtaining secret rewards.

All in all a sin system was extremely flexible, and the host could do whatever he wanted reaping rewards either way.

In his second life Ray only did some minor quests while only choosing the mild clear condition. He was a kind, humble and loved king. His empire loved him but the people didn't respect him.

Humble and trusting as he was, he was betrayed and killed.

In his third life he went full on power leveling, doing everything only with the greater rewards and not caring any consequences.

He was feared and respected. But since a ruler couldn't only rule with fear there were often rebellions, and Ray just slaughtered them all without a second look.

He didn't want betrayals and interruptions to his intense knowledge-gathering spree.

And thus rebellions led to suppressions which further created more rebellions, and that's when one day he received a weird quest with no name but filled with '?'s and had extreme clear conditions. Either revive everyone he had killed as undead creatures, or kill everyone alive and then revive them into undead creatures.

And obviously Ray… chose the second one.

Simply because doing so would give a better reward.

And well… the gods didn't really take it well and killed him.

Having lived both as a kind and an evil king, this time Ray had the perfect plan. He would live as the extreme chaotic entity, playing both sides, reaping best rewards from both factions, doing whatever he wanted and just follow his instincts.

'Kind towards good and ruthless towards evil. Though it's me who'll decide what is good or evil…'

He would reach the epitome of every sin system and destroy whatever the fuck this reincarnation cycle shit was by obtaining the ultimate divine passive 'Immortality.'

He had also simplified and created a single goal to ultimately reach for each system.

For the pride system, he would conquer every kingdom and become the sole emperor.

For the wrath system he would destroy or kill everyone in the empire's rankings, in every list possible be it assassin, mage, swordsman, every ranking he would find, he would be the one at the top.

For the lust system, he would put any and every woman he fancied into his harem.

For the sloth system… well this was a weird system where the less he did himself the more he gained, so he would have massive amounts of supporters and coordinate them to do most of the hard work.

For the gluttony system he just had to consume monster cores.

For the greed system he would gain immense wealth that would put the dwarves to shame but if he just conquered every kingdom this would be easily solved.

And finally he would just go with the flow of the envy system, for this was a system with quests so random and weird he could just utter 'why' every time he saw a new quest pop up.

Yep. Seven easy steps and he would achieve his goal.

'Seven easy steps… easy steps… easy…'

Ray's eyebrows twitched as he slowly calculated his next moves.

He would be crowned king after seven days.

Before he was a king, he had to do a few things.

Weirdly enough, unlike his other lives this time Ray was anticipating his future.

'Enough thinking, let's look at my status… Sin system.'

The moment Ray concentrated on the words 'sin system' a black window appeared before him.
