Later at Community Hospital
Yamato:(wakes up and gets up slowly)where…where am I? what happened?
Miss Keen: (sighs) You're at the community hospital and you have been asleep for a week
Yamato: Miss Keen?
Miss Keen: Welcome back to the world of the living, we were worried you weren't going to wake up. How do you feel?
Yamato:(sudden pain in his arms and groans)what the?
Miss Keen to: I guess now that your up all that pain is going to hit you at once. Let me explain what happened to your arms. The school nurse operated on your arms as soon as we got to the hospital, the reason is because you had come in contact with a decaying technique that was still in effect and was destroying your arms, Without her, you wouldn't have survived it. She did the best she could though your arms were attended to late so she had to apply constant healing bandages made of steel and infused with holy light but don't worry today's the last day you have to wear them. Sorry your hands won't be able to move to easily with those
Yamato: But my mind's kind of foggy. What exactly happened that would caused me to come in contact with such a technique in the first place? where are my parents?... why aren't they here
Miss Keen: (sighs) So you really don't remember what happened?.....Well then, there's no easy way to say this Yamato.....but your parents are dead. We don't know who caused it, why they did it or what their motives where but whoever did it left before we could arrive. I'm sorry we got there too late, it's because of us your in pain and wearing those bandages. But I'll make sure I make it up to you and at the very least get those bandages off of you
Yamato: (squeezes his fists) No! I want to continue to wear these bandages, I want them to be a constant reminder about what happened that day. I was weak and I stood in their way, I didn't help them at all and its because I was weak they died. I don't want that to ever happen again.(Looks to Miss Keen)please Miss Keen...help me get strong
Miss Keen: Yamato... I also wanted to ask…(Dax, Karin and Miss Murakami burst into the room)
Miss Murakami: Yamato your alive (she quickly grabs a hold of him and hugs him tightly) I'm so happy you survived, you made me doubt my medical skills but now I don't have to worry cause your alive
Dax: Yamato (cries) I thought I lost you forever, please don't do that next time I can't loose the best friend I just got
Yamato: (gets teary) Wow. You guys all came to see me?
Karin: of course we did yamato, your our friend and we were worried about you (blushes)
Dax:( Crying on Yamatos lap)Please don't ever scare me like that again. I just got a best friend I can't go loosing him immediately. Promise me you won't do that again not without us (puts his fists out) Any battle you fight is our battle. I'll fight alongside you
Miss Murakami: (looks at him) Hey there Dax that's a pretty big promise to make. don't you think?
Karin: (getting emotionally pumped up) I..I want to fight your battles too, I want to be your friend too and get stronger with you both . don't leave me out of it
Dax:(Laughing with Yamato) we won't, we will all get stronger together
Miss Murakami: (getting emotional? Aww!, I miss how things use to be when I was young too. All that energy and drive(sobs), don't let it go to waste you hear me?! I really envy you all. (sigh) what id give to be young...
Miss Keen: Well that time is long over.
Miss Murakami: But. That isn't fair!(pouts)
Yamato: It's okay miss Murakami you're still pretty young to me
Miss Murakami:(embraces Yamato) Oh thank you Yamato, this is why I'm sure your going to be my absolute favourite.
Dax: (looking at her with meh eyes) Nurse.... please stop your hugging him too tight
Karin: Yeah miss Murakami, if you don't stop now I think Yamato might actually die this time
Miss Murakami: (quickly releases him) Oh! Sorry Yamato (laughs as she rubs her head) I got a little carried away
Miss Keen: (sighs) Oh God! (Faces Yamato) Yamato I know you just woke up and are still recovering, and I hope it isn't too sudden but I want to know the whole story. What happened and how your parents died
Miss Murakami: Keen! how can you even think to ask him something like that now, At a time like this, what's wrong with you?
Miss Keen: Look Murakami, I know what I'm doing is insensitive but its only for his own good. You know how things look right now so we have to know the story. The entire island is in an uproar and they need to know they can rest easy
Miss Murakami: I know! but at least let him recover first
Miss Keen: I know you're only interested in your patients well being but we don't have that luxury right now. We need to know as much as we can
Miss Murakami: What is wrong with you? Can't you see that he's suffered enough? After everything he's been through and at such a young age. He went through so much in one day more than anyone could possibly imagine and you're asking him to relive that moment?!
Miss Keen: Murakami listen…
Miss Murakami: (interrupts her) No you listen!...I'm not going to let you put this boy through anymore hell than he has already been through
Miss Keen: calm down Murakami, your being…
Miss Murakami: I'm being what?
Yamato: Miss Murakami (looks at her as a terrific drop escapes her eye) it's alright, I want to tell her what happened
Miss Murakami:(hugs yamato and begins to cry) you're such a strong boy you know that?, so confident. But I need to know, do you really want to do?
Yamato: I'm sure. This Is what I want to do
Miss Murakami: Then ...(wipes her tears) I'll allow it. Part of the job is to respect your patients wishes. Go ahead, Yamato
Yamato: Alright then
Miss Keen: (holding up a recorder) we will be recording everything you say
Yamato: It all happened when I got home. I opened the front door of the house a little and called out to my parents but there was no answer, so I decided to open it completely to check. At the front of the door I found blood and called out for them again but still no answer. All of a sudden, there was a loud crashing sound from the back of the house and when I got there I found Mum and Dad fighting a stranger I had never seen before. He was a man of average height who wore a black cloak and a hood, the hood had a red eye with an x drawn across the eye at the point that covered his head, he was also wearing a mask that covered most of his face.
The man was an assassin according to what my dad said before he died. In their fight at the beginning they were both battling the unidentified intruder but trying to manage their space and minimise damage to the surrounding areas, I didn't realise it at the time that I was holding them back. Yet I wanted to join them and help them fight. My Mum and Dad were strongly against it and told me to stay out of the fight but I insisted (holds his head and yells) I wish I had just listened! My dad said he couldn't fight and worry about me at the same time so he told mum to take me somewhere far away while he faced the assassin. I struggled at first when my mum carried me away but complied and thought to myself when I'm dropped off ill run back to the house, so when my mum dropped me off at the abandoned water tower I ran through a short-cut I found when I was playing a few months back. I ran back to the house to go help meanwhile I was only being a nuisance. I thought that if I just showed them what I could do, I would prove to them I can help, I could prove to them I could fight (starts to tremble and stammer and shakes as he grabs the bed sheets tightly) it's all my fault, its my fault their dead!!!
Dax: (worried) Yamato, I think that's enough you don't have to say anything else if you cant take it. Miss Murakami was right you aren't ready for this yet
Karin: Yeah yamato, I can't stand to watch you when your like this, please just stop
