During the time James got ready and finished his phone call, Nyx had managed to somewhat calm down and started to prepare dinner. Since she didn’t have much time and had nothing previously prepared, Nyx decided to make some mac and cheese and a simple salad. When the doorbell rang, she was busy preparing the salad, and without giving it a second thought, went to answer the door while holding a knife in her hand.
When the door opened, James unconsciously took a step back when he saw the knife, but Nyx didn’t pay much attention to him and walked back to the kitchen right after uttering a /"Come in/" at him.
James walked in and closed the door behind him. Not even two steps inside the apartment, the white cat ran to him as if it had been waiting for him for a long time. The man squatted and rubbed its head.
/"Hi./" He greeted the cat.
/"Meow./" The cat answered.
