Gene felt danger. It was as if the Grim Reaper had just popped up and was waving at him, ready to take him away. "Bullsh*t!" But in a split second, he quickly moved a step to the side.
Ein's target got messed up, and, in the end, his Universal Spell only managed to get one part of Gene's body... His left hand.

There was no pain, nor was there a process that happened before he lost it. His hand just vanished like a video skipping frame. "What did you do? What the hell did you do to me, EIN?!"
Merely losing a hand wasn't even considered a scratch to a god such as Gene. However, there was one problem. The missing hand wasn't regenerating at all! It was as if the very existence of his hand was completely removed from the fabric of reality, rejecting the notion that "there was once a hand attached right here."
Gene didn't need a few seconds to realize this, and thus, he became enraged after seeing Ein's common-sense defying stunt.
