Ein was left in the room with Nayta and Melina, sipping tea and eating snacks. He felt happy that the trade was going as he predicted. With this, he could hope to get livestock from the caravan on the next trade.
The mother-daughter pair, however, still had their heads lowered. Ein, noticing their listlessness, couldn't help but ask. "What's wrong, you two?"
After he asked, the two glanced at each other before Nayta asked.
"That... Lord Ein..." She was hesitating as she pondered which words to use. "The two of us... What... What do you think of us?"
Although Nayta squeezed all her courage to ask, she can't help but be indirect about it. From her perspective, Ein was a God. An incarnation of, if not the Demon God himself. With the large gap in their standings, she couldn't help but be pessimistic about their relationship.
"What I think...?" Ein tilted his head, wondering what she meant. 'Is it as a subordinate? As a person?' Ein pondered.
