Ein's words made Michelle stare blankly in shock. Her mind couldn't process what she just heard and completely stopped. After a short while, when the message finally reached her understanding, Michelle's face turned bright red like a ripe tomato.
"Y-you mean...!" Michelle tried to move her hand away reflexively. "T-This is too sudden! I, I can't..."
When she was about to say words that would delay the matter, Ein's expression turned a mix of sadness and understanding. "Well, I understand. I guess being together with a hunter who risks his life every day isn't really a wise choice."
Ein slowly let go of Michelle's hand, which in turn made her panic. "No, I don't mean it that way!"
Although she was still embarrassed, Michelle steeled her resolve.
"I, I like you too, Ein! And probably since a long while ago!"
