The desert was wide—technically wider than the previous ocean floor. However, the spawn point there was in the middle of the desert, which led to the floors being scattered around, technically minimizing the distance to the exit.
As soon as everyone got in, the gate closed behind them. And as if it were a mirage, it quickly vanished from view. Ein didn't even need to go back there just to touch the area and confirm. It was obvious what the dungeon master's aim was in making it this way. From now on, they don't have the option of retreating.
A normal clearing team would probably wander aimlessly around the desert, despairing at the thought that they couldn't find the exit. But unlike them, Ein already knew the exit's exact location. It was only a matter of reaching that place in one piece.
"But first, let's test one of those monsters," Ein declared as he pulled out his sword, Gram, and dashed forward.
