Chapter 12 - Knockturn alley and letter.

As we stood beside the corpse of an old grandma we started to walk away slowly. Just killing someone who could be a shop owner has some consequences and can make me stand out. I should get out of here for some days. There are many more shops where I can buy identity.

My face showed obvious unhappiness. I tried to control my emotions to not show on my face the last few hours since the encounter with the old lady where I showed my surprised face.

With that motive, my face started to change slowly. My previously threatening eyes that contained killing intent from all the killing were now only cold like ice, turning anyone who looked into them into an ice sculpture.

My face didn't show any expression except indifference if that can be counted as emotion. Of course, I was faking it as I was always a little nervous and on guard all the time, but I needed them to think that I was so strong I could deal with others before they could team up.

And with that expression, I started walking away while thanking Slyde for the help. Some hooded figures were looking at me from the back but they looked a little scared. But I needed to be careful. A cornered mouse can do much more than a cat. And I certainly experienced that in the forest.

After some turns here and here I noticed that some people were still following me. There were around four people. They had black hoods like everyone in Knockturn alley. They were quite tall and quick. They were using some magic almost silently to follow me. Well, even the slight sound of their breathing caught my attention thanks to my training against the beasts in the forest many of them had hiding properties. Also the senses I gained from Snake's bond were quite powerful.

I still behaved like I knew nothing and without a change continued forwards. They were fastly nearing me while preparing something and silently communicating with their hands.

After that continued for around 30 minutes I started getting a little impatient.

'Are they planning something big? Just attack me guys. The moment you attack me I am going to kill one of you and then run as quickly as possible.'

Then in a split second, there was a spell before me colliding with my back. It was so fast that I couldn't do anything against it. With its speed, it was breaking the air around it. I was always ready to dodge but I didn't expect such swiftness.

I quickly caught myself falling on the face first. I looked behind me but they were nowhere to be seen.

I quickly started identifying every little spot in my vision so I could find them. And I found one of them.

He was invisible. He was around 10 meters in front of me right next to a corner. It was raining earlier so there was some mud around. And the mud where he was was dented. It could have been just footsteps because there is a corner right next to it but I can try attacking that spot.

I changed my direction of gaze to bait them into thinking they are safe. Then I readied for attack.

I gripped my lovely dagger with my right hand.

I gripped my bloody dagger with my left hand.

I stood there for another 5 seconds just making sure there is not anyone meters next to me.

Then I started sprinting towards the corner where the person should be.

As I was nearing the corner I had more vision of what was behind it.

I saw three people holding wands and pointing toward me. They were the same people who were following me. They were standing close to the corner.

'I thought I found one of them but it was just a trap waiting for me to step in. If they all use the same spell as before it could damage me quite a lot. Although it was just something like a propelling spell probably meant to take my attention.' I bit my lip with slight nervousness.

'I have never fought against real magic spells except for some Core magic of animals in the forest. I should not fight too much as I know nothing about spells and how they can be used. I should just try to escape.'

As they reacted to my appearance their prepared spells launched toward me at high but not undodgeable speed, it was a lot slower than the first one but still dangerous since it was three such spells.

I dodged to the left as fast as possible.

The spells flew right at the place where I was just a moment ago and collided with a wall of the street and made a slight explosion damaging my ears a little.

The three dark wizards launched another wave of spells at me but now there was one dark wizard behind me trying to sneak up on me.

I jumped on the wall and clung to it. The previous spells had orange to red color but now one of them had yellow color with slight sparks around it.

As it collided with the wall again the yellow spell arrived the last as it was the slowest one of them. But once it impacted it made a big glow almost blinding me completely.

I had a hard time hearing and now even my sight was damaged.

I was seeing only shadows in my vision casting spells again.

Me reacting quickly I jumped down from the wall and rushed towards the one sneaking up on me.

'Since he is invisible he may think I couldn't notice him. That means I should be able to kill him easily.'

My daggers had a slight dark glow around them as I poured a little of my dark magic inside them, making them faster, stronger, and more durable.

As I was five meters in front of the one sneaking up on me the three dark wizards released another wave of magic spells. It was already hard to dodge since there were walls close to each other so they must have thought I will slowly succumb to their attacks.

I jumped once they released the magic wave.

The spells had only orange color. Sadly the only ones who will be in an explosion won't be me but their friend, the one who was sneaking up on me.

As the wave impacted him he brutally exploded into countless pieces of dark red splashing all around the walls and ground.

"MARK! No! How could you die, Mark? Please tell me you are alive!" One of the wizards attacking me shouted.

"This was supposed to be an easy kill! It must be because of this fucker. If he hadn't jumped you would be alive. Don't worry. We will get you revenge." The same one shouted once again on his knees. After a while, he stood up with his two friends looking sad even though they had their hoods on.

But I didn't see anything because I was too busy running as far as possible from them...

2 years later.

1991. 10 July. The western part of Knockturn alley. Home number 1818.

{Good morning Slyde!} I said to Slyde as I was getting up from my bed with still half-closed eyes.

{We have an intruder!} Responded Slyde.

I quickly took my secret dagger from my pants instantly being aware of my surroundings and investigating everything in my head while waiting for the intruder to make a move.

{Don't worry I took care of it.} Said Slyde after a while.

I looked at Slyde for the first time this morning. Seeing him being wrapped around something that looked like a white owl made me a little surprised.

'Wait couldn't that be an owl from Hogwarts?'

{Wait release it fast!} I quickly reacted and said to Slyde telepathically since it takes time for sound to travel and I couldn't lose more time.

Slyde quickly went away from the owl letting it breathe once again.

It had a letter on its leg. I uncaringly pushed the owl away and took the letter into my hands. The owl looked at me angrily and bit me.

It quickly stopped as it hurt itself. I just left it alone.

I focused once again on the letter. The letter was in the size of a normal letter but had the red symbol of Hogwarts which I recognized from the films sealing it tightly.

The was a text written in red on it.

"Eric Walker. Knockturn alley. House number 1818."

I quickly opened the letter to see its contents even though I already knew what was inside:

There was always a thought and nightmare deep inside me that I would not be accepted because they noticed that I live here or that I escaped from Hogwarts. But it looks like my worries were for nothing since I was accepted.

'Well, I should probably go and buy the things in Diagon alley tomorrow. Oh god, I haven't been there for so long. Maybe I should also ask if snakes are allowed inside Hogwarts.'
