Xavier glanced at the time on the wall clock and it was just a few minutes past noon and he still hadn't had lunch.
But Xavier wasn't bothered by that, infact he was more worried about the shares that he still hadn't gotten.
When he first arrived at Country D he noticed how the Chang Globals had not been doing well. This hospital had been existing for over 20 years now since when he was a kid. He heard about the death of Mr Chang, the man died six years ago.
After his death the company shares where then divided and shared to his children but the fools couldn't manage the business and so they sold the Company's shares to other buyers living the Company in the wrong hands.
At that time Xavier was new in the business world and he didn't know much and so he didn't buy the shares but now he had returned and he noticed how the company's rate has gone down.
He thought about it and realized that he could expand his business more and take charge of the Chang Globals and maybe change the name. He had it all planned and the only thing delaying this was the bitch who refused to sell her shares.
He didn't want to handle this matter himself that was why he had asked Me Lee to handle it but he couldn't get why it was taking him so long to just buy some shares.
The ringing of his phone disturbed his thoughts, he looked at the caller and he couldn't help but sigh.
"What is it?" Xavier asked not sparing time for formalities.
"Geez, why are you so grumpy today uh?" Came the male voice at the other line.
"I don't have time for this, what do you want?" Xavier asked again in a not so friendly tone.
"Geez didn't mean to waste your precious time but I just got word from the contractors saying that you're firing them" Jeffery said with a slight confusion in his voice.
"They are not serious, they've been on this for two weeks now and still no improvement" Xavier said as he placed the phone down while he searched for something on his laptop.
"Oh come on, it's not easy to build you know. And they are trying their best" Jeffery said as he knew what was happening.
"It's not good enough" Xavier said and he could here Jeffery mumbling over the phone.
"I need that Headquarter to be up and running by the end of this month and you guys already wasted two weeks just building" Xavier added.
"Okay, I'll make them work harder but I cannot fire them okay." Jeffery said and Xavier didn't say anymore as silence reigned.
"Xavier, will you be going over to the Quinn's mansion?" Jeffery asked with hesitation in his voice.
Xavier's hands on the keyboard stopped as he looked in one direction for a short time.
"No" Came his blunt reply.
"Xavier the past is in the past. It's been five years now and you still haven't said anything to either of them. At least you should stop by and say something" Jeffery said on the other line. He knew what was happening between Xavier and his family and he knew it was going to be hard to forget but five years is a long time.
"The old man invited me over for dinner" Xavier stated.
"That's some progress, you should go" Jeffery said.
"I believe even you should know why he wants to see me" Xavier said.
"He needs someone to take over his company and I'm the only one amongst his many children who can do that." Xavier added.
His father was getting older every day and he's no longer able to run the family business and if he doesn't find a replacement soon then the board would vote him out. The old man wouldn't let that happen as he valued his business a lot.
Jeffrey couldn't help but sigh as he knew where this was going.
Jeffery and Xavier had been friends since they were kids. They grew up together and they had similar childhood experience, after the university Xavier had left him saying that he had to go and build his own empire and so they parted. Unlike Xavier Jeffery had continued in his family business not until he realized the source of his families success.
He abandoned his family business and left to go find Xavier, it wasn't hard as he saw his face in almost every station and every paper. They talked and he told Xavier about the truth he discovered and how he would not want to go back to his family. Xavier then offered him a job as the chief of staff in his company and ever since then they had been working closely together.
Two guys who were different from each other in all aspects. Xavier was the cold, arrogant and ruthless type while Jeffery was more of a cheerful and jovial person.
"The only reason he wants me back is because he needs someone with my skills to take over and we both know that I'm the only one he's got" Xavier stated. Right from when he was a kid, he had always noticed how the old man was willing to do anything for his business. The man treasured his business so much even more than the people he called family.
"Or maybe he just wants to have a chat with his son" Jeffery said even though he knew deep down that Xavier was right but still it was only fair that Xavier took over the family business after all he is the rightful heir.
"Xavier I didn't get the chance to talk to my parents before they died and now that they are gone I am willing to do anything to get another chance with them" Jeffery said on the other line. Two years after he left the family business, he received a phone call and was informed that both his parents were involved in a car accident and they both didn't make it.
Jeffery couldn't believe and he then took a plane to county D that day. When he got there he went to the hospital where his parents were taken to and he saw both his parents lying on the bed lifeless with blood all over them.
He was the only son of his parents and so when he had left, the board then saw that they could take over and so they voted his father out and then left them with nothing.
This all had been happening while he was away and he couldn't help but blame himself everyday for being so stupid.
He didn't want the same thing happening to Xavier as he wished the best for his friend.
