Chapter 63 - 0.63

King Carl awarded me the prize for winning the trials and praised my connection with nature, as though I had transformed into a Senior Romantic from the era of Romanticism. Then, subsequently, everyone showered me with praise too.

Engrossed in the special gift bestowed upon me by the king today, words failed to convey the extent of my delight. Unaware, I was unable to notice the lustful eye he harbored toward me.

At the end of the ceremony, I am asked to ascend the so-called stairs of heaven. As soon as I am about to climb them, a bright crimson light emits from the stairs, and a loud voice transmits to me.

"Question your sins, regain composure, Reflect on remorse, straight to your heart."

"Dare carry any sinful thought, Fall from the bridge."

I ignore the ominous warning and start thinking about any sinful activity I have done and how I can justify it and after pondering for an hour or so it seemed to me at least I justified all the crimes I did and Who defines sins.

The Almighty God's opinion is subjective, my opinion is subjective, and My brother's opinion is subjective. The subjective becomes objective only when it comes through the authority, and you surrender to it.

And the only authority I recognize is my own. I decide what's right and wrong for me.

Though the theoretical definition may disagree, I am positioned to define sin because I'm internally strong. Even if someone spits on my face, I won't get angry at him unless I just want to kill him for the sake of it, and everybody admits that the self is infinitely superior to the others.

He does not make himself suffer for his actions or for others. You are not concerned with any action. Whatever you are supposed to do, you will do with the greatest amount of pleasure and passion, without being attached to anything. You don't suffer pain.

This is why Whatever sins that exist I bear it, and whatever exists is longing for me to conquer.

And at the exact time a dirty baby dies in the crowd for some reason, I recompose myself and start climbing the stairs but hear loud noises that just were not needed: "Do your best Ji Yan."

I ignore Augustine's mumbling and continue to walk the stairs.

These flying rocks and the heavenly energy are quite displeasing to look at and I can't get why the Stairs to Heaven are becoming grotesque the more I walk.

First, I start entering past lives, the vast world of the mind, where each layer reveals one life. As I consciously pass through what seems to be endless layers, I eventually reach the center of my consciousness.

It felt like I was being engulfed by a scorching wave of liquid fire, burning through every corner of my thoughts without mercy. My vision filled with flickering flames, setting my soul ablaze with intense heat.

And now it makes me shiver as if oil is poured inside my brain and then the fire is lit but because here I'm an eternal punching bag (Immortal), I can't do anything but suffer pain and I have no life of mine so I continue to climb and fire erupts on my brain and oil is now dropping from the brain to burn me and throw me into eternal hell and also engulfing me in the sea of eternal agony.

Blood hanging down my torso, my fingers almost cut down by these stairs and the baby in the crowd gets crushed under the bosom of her mother; and Buddhas and constellations watch over my dread and cast a shadow of Hope over me, but I know If I embrace the hope bestow over me then I will climb the mountain and will fall surely.

"The Divine child has climbed 389 steps of the Heaven staircase."

"How could this be possible...It's simply unprecedented"

"As one would anticipate from the divine child."

To be honest, I like people's sophistry as long as they are not expecting benefits from me, but they always come to me with their emptiness. I tell them: 'I despise you. I fucking despise you and want your fear to come out to reality and attack you' but they never stop chasing after me.

"He broke record huh?" The vampire says and continues "And without injury, no less."

I look at the crowd, hearing everything they talk about.

"The stair is so lucky that the divine child blessing is upon him is steeping on it."

"I will never wash my face if he steps on me."

"It's okay because there is only one Divine Child," I console myself, choosing to selectively hear things, filtering out any disrespectful remarks for the sake of my sanity.

"You have done well, Divine Child"

King Carl appears before me, says this to me, and tosses me a Heaven grade 7 absolute profound pill.

I catch it, put it in my mouth, and after enveloping it in my saliva, swallow it.

Then I bend my posture slightly, arch my hand out in response to his praise, and say, "I wouldn't say so, at least not as good as you."

He smiles, and after brief greetings and a discussion of current affairs and future plans regarding governance, we had a moment of mourning once again. Then, with the entire crowd, we danced a lot.

The reason for the dance is that the soul is considered everlastingly immortal unless a specific disruption arises. Because it is constantly in the cycle of samsara and will reach a new beginning or might even escape the cycle of samsara, we believe it is best to send their soul with smiles. This way, we avoid creating an unnecessary lingering feeling to stay.

After completing the dance and other requisites of the ceremony, I leave secretly to not grab Augustine's attention, flying above them, and glancing at the ragged clothes most of the people are wearing and gouging out the condition they live in, I could say that it gives me a new sense of security because I'm no child, content with living without care and finding happiness in small things.

Soon I arrive at the quarters of Hui Ying and hover just outside, suspended in the ethereal stillness. The cool breeze touches me as I float in the air. I glance back, observing this feeling, and it's obvious this is all thanks to Bing Xuemei.

I reach out my hand towards Bing Xuemei and pat her head, but seeing her red face, I retract my hand back soon.

I then check the time and mumble to Acantha, "Do you think my fiancée has completed her prayer?"

Acantha answers back telepathically, "Which one, Milord?"

'She is asking this when she knows Only Hui Ying is devoted enough to pray and I'm outside her chamber.'

I keep my calm and instruct her to be more mindful and then I vibrate my body at a speed sufficient enough to phase through the barrier separating me and Hui Ying, and as I had expected, 'it' throws me out but this 'it' is not a barrier but her servants who throw me out, appearing out of somewhere.

"You're stopping me?" I inquire of the three girls who have appeared before me.

"Mother Hui Ying instructed us not to allow anyone inside," they respond.

'But I'm her fiancé, and I don't think there are any precedents held or Acts passed for privacy between husband and wife... Oh yeah, we're not that currently' I think.

"You all are triplets?"

"Yes."

"When were you born?"

"We do not know."

"You resemble Lady Hui Ying a lot"

"..."

"What am I to you all?"

"Papa."

'It seems they are manifestations of her inner mind and desires.'

"Are you all aware when she will come out?"

"No, she asked us to not allow anyone until she completes her work."

"When will she complete her work?"

"We are not aware of it."

"Are you aware of the peculiar work she might be doing?"

"We are not allowed to disclose it."

"When will her Bath be completed?"

".....We are not aware of it."

"So, she has completed her prayers?"

"..."

I pat the triplets' heads to show my appreciation for their cooperation, then sit down on the floor to wait for Hui Ying.

I sense the shadow guards' flustered expressions as a result, though Acantha's face remains composed. Without objection, Acantha also sits on the floor beside me.
