Chapter 37 - everything awakened an ability

"Remember evaluate the surroundings, don't engage for whatever reason. We just need to know what's happening up there." Tom said to which the group of three nodded. They were currently standing on a tall platform, just underneath a metal lid.

"Don't worry old man we'll be back in no time." Sole chuckled, causing tom to grumble some words before leaving through a stairs connected to the platform.

'Here goes nothing..' the metal lid then hissed as it slid open, with the little group compromising of Atlanta sole and Mira going through, with it sliding shut.

"Let's go." Mira gestured as they then followed her. Atlanta could see they were in a cave as that was were the metal lid led to, and with her advanced hearing she could definitely hear a waterfall not too far. Going up a bit the group were careful not to be caught by any surprises, as they made their way nearer to the waterfall.

"I never got to thank you for saving my life." Atlanta softly said behind mira, there was a slight smile on the girl with ponytail hair hearing that.

"It's nothing. I was just repaying the favour I owed you." Mira spoke still running forward. Atlanta didn't know what Mira meant by that but she didn't ponder long about it, as she'd been hearing a lot of strange things lately.

It didn't take long before the group reached the entrance of the waterfall, as it was just in front. Following a narrow space besides the waterfall, they safely exited the cave through the coverage of a huge boulder.

'It's beautiful.' Atlanta thought, staring at the crystal clear water falling to the ground following in a straight line further down. After gazing a bit, she then followed her little group back as they headed into the woods.

"Where is this place?" Sole asked, seeing he didn't recognize this place at all. Looking at it he could tell they were no where near elite city, as this place was a more uncivilized and forested area.

"This used to be the former resistance HQ." Mira calmly said still walking forward, her eyes arched looking out as she walked by. The shocked expression on both sole and Atlanta's face couldn't be hidden, as they heard those words from Mira.

"Wait.. you mean, as in the former resistance base 50 years ago?" Sole stuttered a bit with a hint of excitement in his voice.

"Yes, the one and only." Mira giggled softly, amazed at their shocked expressions.

"B-but how?" Atlanta said surprised. If it truly was the former resistance base then how was it still standing? The one in her vision didn't look any thing like this, and it certainly wasn't hidden behind a waterfall or in any better shape than this.

"How is it still standing, or how is it still hidden?" Mira smiled not knowing what Atlanta meant. She'd known sooner or later questions would surface, but she was betting on it.

"Both.."

"Well to answer your first question. It's no doubt you two haven't been here 50 years ago." She grinned, and Atlanta couldn't help but feel like Mira was mocking them.

"Well after the great war against the brutal cyborgs known as hunters, our leader Richard gene decided to abandon our first resistance HQ and came here to this spot, to relocate our troops after much life has been lost." Mira spoke, adding a bit of spice as she told this youngsters the tale of 50 years ago.

"So you're saying this is the second original resistance HQ." Sole softly said to which Mira just nodded calmly.

"Bingo! you're finally grabbing on." Mira chuckled a bit, clearing her throat a little before she continued on. And as for your second question, let's just say we had a really good way of staying hidden." Mira smirked. she could tell they wanted to know more about the past, as she could feel their Peery eyes behind.

"Kidding.. anyways the war had ended, so there was no point in fighting anymore. The remaining of us resistance fighters who survived chose to stay hidden in this HQ, if any need be to fight again." Mira softly said before her expression turned soar, as she shook her head having remembered something.

"The day the war ended was the last day we ever saw Richard gene." Mira soarly spoke with a hint of regret and anger in her tone.

"Weird.. I can't believe we were just in the original resistance HQ. Isn't it crazy Atlanta." Sole said but didn't get a response from her. Turning he could see she was pondering about something, as she stared at Mira her gaze narrowed.

"Do you mind if I know your age Mira?" Atlanta asked thinking about something.

"No no. Am 14 but why do you ask?"

"You said 'we chose to go into hidden'. which means you must be a resistance fighter 50 years back. But what I can't seem to get is how you're still young and haven't aged a bit." Atlanta said her voice becoming more serious, as her suspicions on the latter increased. She'd felt something strange about Mira ever since they met, but she just couldn't place her finger on it.

Something deep in her told her she had met this individual somewhere, but she wasn't sure as everything felt off.

"The only plausible reason I could come up with is, you've infused some part of your body with that of a cyborg." Atlanta boldly said staring at Mira, who had now turned facing them.

'Shit! why did things have to get serious all of a sudden.' Sole thought seeing the atmosphere had become tense, as the two locked eyes on each other. They were each holding an energy handgun powered by zilk energy, which was the 14th on the ranking lorack being last.

"And what makes you think that?" Mira spoke in an ominous tone, her body giving off insidious vibes.

"Oh! I don't know.. with the war ended and Richard gone you probably lost faith and got greedy, deciding to sustain yourself or maybe you even joined sides with the hunters for all I know." Atlanta now had her handgun pointed at Mira, her fingers just inches away from the trigger.

"What if I have? What would you do.." a creepy smile formed on Mira's face, as she asked that question.

"As a member of the resistance, and girl everything was taken from by the hunters. I would say, I would have mercy by giving you a quick death." Atlanta coldly said, making Mira burst out in laughter.

"And what makes you think you can beat me?"

"Watch me.." Atlanta calmly said as her senses was on high alert. if she couldn't kill her swiftly with the hand gun, then she wouldn't hesitate to go all out.

"You're really interesting Atlanta. Ha! you haven't changed one but." Mira chuckled a bit, her eyes gleaming with excitement and thrill. "Though you gave your reasons which were by the way solid, Am not a hunter nor a cyborg." She softly said but Atlanta wasn't buying it.

"Bullshit! Why now of all times did you choose to show yourself."

"Like I said before I came here to help you."

"L-lies! there's no way you aren't a cyborg, or not working with the hunters." Atlanta yelled refusing to believe all what Mira was saying.

"I can see you don't trust me. Ha.. I didn't want to have to say this.., Mira sighed, a frown forming on her face.

"Am scared.. I haven't seen my mommy in a week now. Don't worry little girl, I'll help you find your mommy." Mira softly said. "Think about it, your vision tells a tale of your past." Mira uttered. Atlanta seemed to have become motionless for a while as she stared at Mira, pondering about something.

'H-how did she know about my vision.' Atlanta inwardly thought, shocked how this strange girl knew about her vision.

'Wait.. those words..' looking more closer to Mira she thought about those words she said, as she remembered she'd heard them somewhere in her vision while she was in the fortifier.

"No.. it couldn't be." Atlanta gasped a bit, as a mind-blowing thought crossed her mind.

"It is.. am the little girl you got to her mommy." Mira confirmed her suspicions, making Atlanta gasp stepping back a few steps.

"I-impossible.. you're just a fragment of my imagination."

"Stop being an idiot, You know it's true." Mira frowned at Atlanta, still finding it hard to believe her. Sole could only watch as the drama unfolded, he didn't know what they were talking about so he just listened.

If truly Mira was real, then that meant other part of her visions were also real. thinking about it made her body shiver a bit. her mind couldn't come up with any other way, Mira would still be this young like her, 50 years now.

"Don't worry.. I'll tell you all about it." Mira softly said, but their attention was cut off guard by an item flying fast crashing into Atlanta.

'Shit!' Atlanta could still feel a sizzling effect, from that strange green ball fired at her. Looking forward, they could see a group of about 30 creatures whose skin were green in colour. Their height was about 4 meters tall as they were naked, their thick green skin on display pointy noise and ears. Each holding a wooden club in their hands, darting forward at Atlanta and her group.

"Atlanta!" Sole yelled, running over crouching down and checking up on Atlanta. Seeing she was fine, he then stared with murderous eyes at the strange green goblins.

"Fuck! We were spotted." Mira scoffed, already back with sole and Atlanta as she stared at the group of 30 goblins in front.
