After graduating from the University, Kita had joined Dr. Kbom research lab as his apprentice. Dr. Kbom had personally taken Kita under his wing. which meant a lot in the community. And signaled to many people that Kita was now under the exclusive protection of Dr. Kbom.
As a Research focused State, The Arcorn Empire valued Researchers greatly. That created an environment where researcher could thrive, Innovate and push the boundaries of Human technologies.
But that also turned the research community into a cutthroat place where everyone was trying to one up others.
But Dr. Kbom protection gave Kita enough room to start working on his own research projects and career without thinking about all the enemies he would be making along the way by stomping on the work of other researchers. Many of whom had decades of prior experience in their respective fields.
But, Kita didn't care about all that stuff.
He was always a curious child. He always wondered about the many questions of the universe.
Under Dr. Kbom's tutelage, He thrived as he made rapid progress in his research projects.
When Dr. Kbom noticed the amount of progress he was making, He had shipped to one of his many secret research facilities. Where he had access to all sorts of Lab equipment and an environment to promote growth.
Kita thrived there. Just 3 years after he had been shipped there, He had finally came up with a viable prototype for the miniaturization of gravity field generators.
Although the technology was already about a decade old at this point, It was still too unwieldy. It required huge machines and were power hungry monsters. They weren't economical no matter how one looked at them.
But Kita changed all of that.
He flipped the whole industry on it's head when he came up with a miniature from of the technology that provided the same benefits as the huge machines. But at 1/100th of the size! And an abysmally low power draw compared to their counterparts.
The Impact of such a ground breaking discovery was quite substantial.
Many industries changed because of his invention.
The most impacted of them was the Space ships.
Gone were the days when people would need to invest huge sums of money just to make sure that they could walk and perform their duties properly aboard their ships.
Kita had made Artificial Gravity affordable, Reliable and most of all efficient.
When the Kbom High-tech Industries first launched the small gravity field generators, It had broken all previous records and achieved record sales as everyone was scrambling to get their hands on them.
Everyone wanted to outfit their ships with this new generation of Artificial Gravity generators.
Demand was so high that the waitlist for these generators had piled up to a few years!
As the Kbom High-tech industries was the only company with the technology to manufacture this stuff. Dr. Kbom had decided that it would be best if they created more industrial complexes to accommodate the demand.
And as it was something whose demand would only keep growing. It was the best approach.
Within a few months, 2 new industrial factories had been created that was dedicated just to manufacture these generators.
This single invention propelled Kita into the forefront of the research community. His name was known throughout the Empire.
But along with the fame, Came enemies. Although Kita pioneered his invention. There were a lot of other peoples and companies that were also working on solving this exact same problem.
When Kita suddenly came to market with such a product. All of their Years of R&D turned pointless.
These huge corporations had invested Trillions of Credits into this research. And beating them to market meant that they had just lost a lot of money.
Of course, some of them tried to reverse engineer the generators, and brought out competed products to the market. But failed miserably.
Nor Their products were nowhere near as good as Kita's, Nor they could match the precision manufacturing techniques of the Kbom Industries.
After a few years, most of these competitors had worn themselves out and got out of the market altogether.
Only the really big players remained.
Throughout this process, Kita had made many enemies in the industry. Many of them wanted to hurt him one way or another. Understanding the situation, Dr. Kbom shipped both Him and Helen to the military.
That was the easiest way to keep them safe.
Being in the military provided them with the protection that they needed. Together with the protection that Dr. Kbom provided him, Kita became Untouchable.
Nobody could lay their finger on him.
Many years had passed since then.
Kita had grown a lot since then and a lot of things had happened.
He had lost Helen along the way and now he remained aimless.
But his departure from the Military gave his old enemies a chance to work up.
York wasn't sure which of the Enemies it might be, But As Kita suspected someone high up in the military command, It narrowed down the list somewhat.
But, Still not enough.
"We should talk with the Doc about this. He might know something about what's going on."
"yeah, You're right. I was just about to. Want to join?" Kita asked.
"Yeah, Let's go."
They both moved to another compartment as Kita initiated the Call.
Dr. Kbom picked it up a few moments later.
"What's up lads? You finally remembered this old man? Missed me much?" he asked.
"Yea, We missed you Doctor."
"Well, Good. What do you want?"
"Can we talk over a more secure connection? Something happened and I need your opinion on somethings." Kita said.
"Well, Let me call you with a more secure line then Gimme a moment." Dr. Kbom said as he cut the call.
A few minutes later, Kita received the call.
"Okay, Speak. This line should be secure enough." Dr. Kbom reassured him.
"Doc, something happened when we were trying to cross the border." Kita revealed as he began explaining the recent event that was still fresh in everyone's mind aboard the Jeager.
