Chapter 52 - Ungained Knowledge

As Kita entered into the lab, he was still in his medical gown. He couldn't even spare the time to properly dress up. But that didn't matter anyway. He didn't need to adhere to a dress code in his own lab.

He hurried to the terminal and began to project all the relevant information about the trees and the lines in front of him. It was still just a bunch of data that seemed to be jargon at the first glance that didn't make much sense. But this time it was different for Kita.

To him, it wasn't just meaningless data, everything he saw in front of his eyes began to make sense. It was like he already understood the basic theory behind how the Trees and the lines worked. And the data matched what he knew already. It was like a bunch of information about the trees and the lines just appeared into his head all of a sudden.

Everything seemed to be falling into place by itself. As the information seemed to be settling into his head, he seemed to have found an explanation on how exactly the lines worked.

He quickly performed some calculations to see if his theory matched the data. And it did.

The special thing about the lines was the exotic it was made out of. It wasn't a single element. But a composite of several different elements that was inherently excited. It basically meant that it was a highly instable and volatile composite. This wasn't the case for the sample that Kita had. It seemed pretty stable enough to him. So he always questioned the validity of the data.

The thing that the data didn't show was that this was the case only when energy threshold inside them reached a certain limit. Below this limit the composite was relatively stable.

The volatility of the material increased as the energy levels increased. This was the case until it reached another threshold. Something really weird and interesting happened when the energy levels reached this crucial threshold.

The molecules suddenly began to slow down and stabilize. This was the first time Kita was witnessing something like this.

Generally, when any kind of energy was added to something, it's molecules started to vibrate and clash with each other. The more energy one added the more violently the molecules clashed with each other. This was also true for the material. But after it reached the crucial threshold, instead of vibrating faster and producing more heat. It started to stabilize down. The molecules appeared to be calmed down and as the energy increased, the molecules stabilize further. And this didn't have any limit.

This was what the data showed. But it didn't explain why the molecules suddenly calmed down. But Kita had the answer in his head. He had gained the insights necessary to figure out why the lines acted the way it did.

The simple answer was, it didn't. The molecules didn't calm down and stabilize. Instead, they began to vibrate even faster. So fast that the molecules went into a superposition of state. Basically, it could be anywhere at anytime. The exact position of the molecule came in question. This made it seem like the molecules were stable and in their place. While in reality, this wasn't the case. The molecules were just vibrating that fast.

The scanners employed by the expeditionary team and Kita couldn't quite catch this in action. As all the lines were already filled to the brim with the energy. So when it tried to scan it, the lines seemed like a cohesive formation of composite. While in reality, it wasn't like that. The limitation of the scanner made it seem like that.

All this stuff just made the molecular mastery of the creators more apparent.

Kita sighed as he sat down on a chair in the middle of the room. All the data were being projected around him. He kept looking at the data as more and more things started to become apparent.

He had suddenly gained a lot of clarity regarding everything that was happening on B1. Kita looked at the celling as he pondered what was going on. Why did he gain so much knowledge about the inner workings of these things suddenly?

Then he remembered the previous incident, He remembered the cuboid integrating itself in his hand.

He looked at his right palm. It was a perfectly normal palm. He pressed it a little, nothing felt wrong. He remembered the lab results showed nothing either.

Kita began to ponder on the state of things as he sat there. He had suddenly gained a wealth of knowledge. Alien knowledge. Although he was a material scientist, he could understand everything that he saw. All the data made sense to him. He could only deduce everything that was happening to Cuboid integrating itself in him.

The knowledge he gained also explained to him what had happened.

The Cuboid and the the lines were designed to work with each other. So when Touched both of them at the same time, they formed a connection through his body. And the innate energy inside the lines was activated, That in-turn fed the cuboid and as they tried to form a connection, both of them began to integrate themselves into Kita's body. He wasn't to sure what had happened after that. And he didn't know either.

He didn't exactly know where the knowledge came from. Whether it was integrated into the cuboid or the lines, he wasn't sure.

But there was one more thing that excited him. He knew perhaps the most critical secret about the whole planet. It was related to the trees.

The trees split the atoms down to it's electrons and protons before reassembling them into Xenon crystals. But how did it exactly do that? All the data didn't provide any answer for that. And it wasn't apparent at the first glance either. How exactly did the tree split the atom into it's tineiest particles?

Humanity had been doing this for hundreds of years. Long before the space age. But their method was crude and resulted in the loss of the particles. The trees however didn't had that problem. That was because the trees didn't just shoot highly charged neutrons at the atom. Instead it used something that humanity knew the existence of. But was yet to encounter in the cosmos.

This simple particle was the answer to Kita's question on how to release the energy inside the Lines and destroy the monolith. This simple particle was what humanity had been looking for eons. But couldn't.

This was non-other than a particle known as Anti-matter. The trees produced tiny amounts of anti-matter through a special method to basically separate the atom.

"Hehe, I got you now bastard. You'd never guess that the way I'm gonna destroy you is the same you use to grow the plants in your planet. Hahahaha…." Kita gave out a hysterical laugh.

That was because, besides providing him the explanation of how the trees worked. It also provided him with the knowledge of how the anti-matter was produced. And Kita had the knowledge to produce it. This would be his weapon against the monolith that was seemingly untouchable.

Kita didn't waste any more time. He quickly got to work on designing and producing a machine that could replicate the methods used by the trees to produce antimatter.
