Kita didn't realize when someone came and was standing behind him. He looked behind to see York holding his Helmet in his place.
Kita didn't realize that the shuttles had landed and everyone was already busy performing their duties. He didn't realize how much time had passed away. But that didn't matter to him anymore. He looked at York and barked.
"Let me go, DON'T STOP ME."
"SHUT UP, MAN. STOP. JUST STOP. You can't die like this. You need to live on. You need to live on for her sake.", York wasn't about to give way to Kita's wishes. As one of the few friends that Kita had, He knew very well how much he loved Helen. And what losing her meant.
York knew Helen through Kita, but they still considered each other good friends. York wasn't aware of what had happened on B1. After the emergency had ended, he heard what had happened and rushed to find kita.
Only to find out that he had already deployed himself and was on his way. York got on the next shuttle that was bound for B1. He knew exactly where he could find Kita.
As he got off the shuttle he saw Kita. Sitting on the ground. Holding the love of his life in his hands. He slowly approached him. As he got closer, he found him crying.
He didn't want to disturb them. So he didn't say anything and kept standing behind him. That was when he noticed what kita was about to do. He rushed to stop him from removing his helmet. York held the helmet in place firmly. Although Kita tried to struggle as soon as he realized someone was stopping him, he soon gave up after finding out who it was.
"Let me go. I don't want to live. I don't want to live without her. I can't… York. I can't." His voice trembled. He couldn't utter sentences. Kita was in shambles right now. Yet, he couldn't do anything for his friend. This irked York. He felt helpless. But that didn't mean he was about to let Kita throw away his life. Helen wouldn't forgive him if he did that.
"You can't. You can't die right now. You need to live on. She lives on in your heart, she lives on through your memories of her. If you die. What will happen to those memories? What will happen to her? Who will remember you guys? Who will remember her?", York said in anger.
"I can't. York. I…. I can't…" Kita broke up in tears again. He was stupefied.
"She broke his promise.. She Broke it. We promised to stay beside each-other through everything. She left me York. She left me." Kita mumbled in a trance. Tears kept falling from his eyes as he hugged Helen in his arms.
York pressed a button on the helmet that resealed to the vac-suit before removing his hands. He let Kita vent out everything he had in him. Standing behind him as a guardian. Making sure he didn't do anything stupid. Helen wouldn't want Kita to follow her to the afterlife. She would've wanted him to live on. And she would've wanted York to make sure of that. He suddenly remembered something.
Helen had once asked that he be there in case she wasn't around anymore. York had brushed it off like it was nothing. Who knew it would've come so soon.
As Kita sat there. York watched over him. It broke his heart to see his friends in such situations. He couldn't do anything.
Kita was a disaster right now. All he could think about was the times he has spent with Helen and how he should've been with her.
As Kita held her. Anger started to pool up inside him. He felt so angry at the circumstances that all of the blood rushed to his brain. But he didn't care. His Vac-suit began to beep with an alarm of high Blood pressure, but He didn't care about that. He was so angry at himself that his eyes had become bloodshot.
With anger in his heart. He picked up Helen's body himself. Although he wasn't someone really strong. But he didn't need to be one in order to lift the numb body of his wife. He lifted the body and began to walk towards one of the shuttles.
York watched him in silence as Kita suddenly got up. When he looked at his face, he could see the bloodshot eyes and the anger raging through his bones.
York didn't stop him, niether did Kita stop. He kept walking towards the shuttle up ahead. When he reached the shuttle he entered it holding Helen in his embrace. After reaching the Med Bay, he found an open Bed to lay her down. The staff of the bay had already been notified by York that Kita was on his way with helen. So they had been prepared when he arrived.
Kita laid her down on the bed ever so gently. He didn't make any sudden moves. He handled her like a newborn. Afraid to hurt her with his actions. After he successfully laid her down. He took one last look at her before turning towards one of the Medics.
"Please.. Handle her with the utmost care.", He said as he gave a small bow. Throughout this whole process his tears hadn't stopped. Through the blood shot eyes, tears kept flowing.
"Dr. Kita! It's my Job. I'll always handle her with the utmost care that I can provide. Rest assured."
"That's all that I can ask." Kita said his final words before turning back and walking out of the med bay. He didn't look back. He couldn't. He kept walking forward with determination in his heart.
York followed him after giving some more instructions to the medics. They would take her body out of the vac-suit and do their best to perform any reconstruction surgery to make it as whole as possible. She deserved atleast that much.
As Kita left the med bay, he walked straight outside the shuttle. There was still some time left before it would return to the shore. Kita wanted to use the time to analyze the Monolith and figure out a way to destroy it. That was what he had determined to do. How he was gonna do it? He wasn't sure. But that has never posed a problem to Kita.
