Kita returned to his lab and resumed his work on analyzing the Stellar data and images that came from the V point. The V point was really quite an interesting Star system. It didn't exist within the border of any known alien empires. Although when seen from the galactic map, The Dragoids bordered many of the star systems around V point. But the problem was, It wasn't accessible from any of the nearby jump points. The only accessible jump point was NEX2320. Both of these star system were quite isolated in their galactic neighborhood so to speak.
Both of these Star systems were on the end of a long chain of stars that were only accessible through One of the Star system quite far away from them. To get to the V point you need to go through the previous stars in the chain and only then can you arrive at the V point. The problem was the entry point. The star system that gave access to this chain of stars was centered around a small brown dwarf on it's way to cool down. It made traveling to that system really hard. As modern FTL drives weren't able to lock onto the star system and jump. The Arcorn Empire's Latest advancements in FTL Drive technology finally allowed it to lock onto that star system and make the jump.
This opened up the Trisk Star Chain up for exploration and colonization. The Arcorn empire quickly made their claim on the Gate system and now the whole of the Trisk Star Chain was up for exploration. The V point was the very last system in the chain also the biggest. It was quite the point of interest for The Researches of Arcorn empire. Although the super structure in the system was first discovered many many decades ago, but until now, there was no way to go to the system and take look.
Now that the Researchers had a way to go for themselves they quickly dispatched a highly anticipated mission to the V Point. The goal was to analyze and research the possible super-structure.
They weren't really worried about aliens. As a structure of this scale could only be built by a stellar empire, And no known empire existed in the Star Chain, They generally took it as the aliens who built the structure were already extinct. Otherwise, They probably would've met them by now.
The milky-way galaxy is huge. There are countless amounts of aliens in the galaxy. Since the beginning of time, many alien empires have come and gone. Nobody known why or how. But ancient alien artifacts that can be found on different star systems suggest the existence of huge alien civilization that once dominated many parts of the milky-way galaxy.
The Superstructure around V0 was probably a remnant of such an empire that was long gone. But the structure itself presented immense research value and an opportunity to reverse engineer it to the benefit of humanity. If the Researchers aboard the Shore managed to figure out what it was and how it was built this could change the direction of human civilization forever.
That's why the Arcorn empire didn't pull any punches. They provided the shore with the best equipment and the best personnel. Every researcher aboard was highly accomplished and highly competent.
Kita was busy researching the latest data and images that were being constantly caught by the Scanners on the Shore.
"This Star system is weird. The amount of interference is way greater than anticipated.", Kita said with frustration.
Normally a blue giant produced a tremendous amount of interference by default. But the amount of interference on the V point was too much. The blue giant didn't explain all of it. The other 4 stars didn't amount to much.
"The amount doesn't add up. It's way off even if we factor in random gases that might be floating in the way.", York said as he shared the same frustrations as Kita.
"You think something else is contributing to the total amount?", York asked.
"It's a valid guess. If someone really wanted to hide what's going on in there, then it's only valid that they use additional measures to make sure no one takes a peek. Relying on the blue giant alone isn't sufficient."
"But how are they generating so much interference to cover such a big star system? And after so many years, It's still running? Shouldn't it have stopped functioning without the aliens to maintain it?"
"That's the question. Even if it doesn't need maintenance to keep running, the device or devices capable of generating so much interference is sure to be a product of High-tech.", Kita deducted from the information available.
"If we can successfully get that maybe we can set-up a similar setup?", York amused as he thought about a potential secret research base for the Arcorn empire.
"There's merit to the idea. If the star system isn't hostile then maybe we can make it as our secret research base."
"Or, we could do that.", York laughed.
The V point presented a huge amount of opportunity for everyone. Not just research value in the form of the Huge Super-structure. But also a great place to build anything you didn't want anyone else to know.
"You think that whoever built the super-structurer is also responsible for the the 4 planets? I mean they are pretty similar in scale.", York asked Kita.
"It's fully possible that the parties responsible for both of the phenomena are one and the same. If that's the case, then it's even more important that we visit these planets and get an idea of why the exist and what's their purpose. It'll help us prepare for anything we might face at the V point."
"Dr. Helen must be really excited."
"Oh yeah, She's really ecstatic about visiting such interesting planets. And they're identical to each other! That's makes them even better research subjects as it's a good way to find out how similar planets might evolve from each other….", Kita suddenly realized something crucial.
