NEX2320 Was quite a huge star system with a pair of White dwarfs orbiting each other. They each hosted an array of planets of their own and shared a few planets among them. Out of the 34 Planets and their moons, 14 of them orbited The primary star also known as Hier 0, The second star was a little smaller than it's counterpart. But it hosted an array of 21 planets. The distance between the 2 stars were quite substantial. They weren't exactly orbiting each other, They were orbiting a common point in space that was shared by the both of them. The remaining 4 planets each had an unique orbit that took them around the whole system. They were in essence orbiting both of the stars.
"It's quite a fascinating arrangement, It's not everyday you get to see such a huge binary star system that has shared planets. Normally each of the stars would have their own sets of planets that orbited only their primary star, having a shared planet is quite interesting.", Captain Tres Huges said as he was investigating the current system they were in.
"Can we get more information on these 4 Planets? Having such an huge orbit around their stars must have it's quirks. What's going on these planets?"
"Sir, After the preliminary calculations and observations, We have managed to find out that all of these 4 planets are huge and similar in shape and size, all of them have heavy gravity, They are mostly made out of different types of gas with a possible solid ice core. Because of having an extremely long and elliptical orbit around the local stars, All of them go through extreme shifts in their climate and whether. When they are at their nearest to their stars, They can get as hot as 2500C ."
"Only 2500C? With the proximity it get's to the local star each cycle, it should get way hotter right?".
"You would be correct, but due to their huge mass and the densely packed gases , It should be able to reflect a surprising amount of heat and regulate itself in the process.".
"What happens after it resumes it's journey around the system?"
"The Planets radiate off their heat after they start going on their cooldown cycle. After losing enough heat, it starts going over the freezing temperature of water and everything starts freezing as it gradually cools down. Until the next heating cycle. But as the planets move really slowly, it takes quite a while before the next heating cycle. Which is more than enough time to get really really cold."
"And this is the case for all 4 planets?"
"Although not all of the conditions are identical, but they have enough similarities that it's safe to assume that all 4 of the planets go through this cycle of heating up and cooling down."
"Fascinating, Anything else about these giants that's worth a note?".
"Yes, Their Orbits are really interesting, It's almost as if they are artificial orbit. I'd almost argue that the planets were put into such an orbit by someone.".
"And, Why do you think that?"
"The Orbits themselves are elliptical in shape, But when projected together, they skew each-other at a 45 degree angle!"
Kita said as he projected the orbit of the 4 planets around the projection of the system.
"Oh wow, They align up perfectly! How's this possible?"
"It's too perfect to be a naturally occurring phenomenon, Yet the nature of the planets themselves makes it almost impossible to artificially put these planets in motion on such orbits."
"Hmm.", Captain Tres Huges began to think as he stared at the projection of the star system with the orbit of the 4 planets highlighted.
Putting a planet or moon on an orbit around a star or another planet wasn't too hard, The planet or moon in question needed to be towed into position at a certain velocity and the gravitational pull of the subject that it was supposed to orbit did the rest. Give sufficient amount of acceleration, It'll keep orbiting in the targeted orbit around it's host star or planet.
But to tow the planet or moon you need to first be able to grapple onto the planet or moon or find a way to move them. Then you'd also need sufficient energy put it into motion at the calculated velocity. All of this needed a tremendous amount of Energy.
Humanity was unable to perform such a feat. It was only able make artificial orbits for moons 1/10th of the size of the moon of Earth. The rest of the Major 3 races weren't faring any better too. According to current intelligence only the Dragoids can tow planets around the size of Earth. Although there are rumors that they've invented methods that let's them work with bigger planets, But the rumors have never been verified.
But Size wasn't the only problem in this case, The planets were mostly made up of different kinds of gas. You can't grapple onto gas. You'd have to tow the core of the planets. Which made up about 80% of the mass for the huge planets. It was so big that towing it would require an Unimaginable amount of energy.
"Putting these giants on such orbits isn't plausible. Even with the rumored tech of the Dragoids, These plants are still too big. As far fetched it might seem, These planets should be a natural phenomenon.", Kita declared as he finalized his reports on the planets. Although he really wanted to know how these planets formed, He had a greater mission on hand.
"You're missing something Kita, These planets are almost identical to each other. What are the chances that all of these planets have a similar amount of mass, Are similar in nature and are on similar orbits that are perfectly skewed to each other on a 45 degree angle, All while having the same kind of heating up and cooldown cycles? All of the 'Coincidences' are a tad too much in my experience.", Captain Huges pointed out. The captain was right. What are the chances of all of these phenomena occurring simultaneously and producing similar results while also being perfectly skewed to each other? But all of it didn't add up.
"Surely you don't believe that the planets were really put into artificial orbits?"
