"What day is it again…"
Within a dimly lit room, surrounded by whirring sounds of exhaust fans blowing, a boy was sitting in front of his PC. He moved his large gaming mouse to the taskbar to check.
"Monday… March 1, 2055… 00:12 AM…"
He once again stayed up late at night.
Noticing the time, he immediately closed all the opened browsers he was looking at. Most of those contain information on virtual reality, VRMMO, and especially, World Explosion Online.
"…At last…"
The boy said with a wide grin.
He then immediately laid down on his bed and went to sleep.
It was already March.
Two months had passed since the viral conference had happened.
In the first two weeks, people were struck with fear and panicked. Soon after, due to the governments around the world desperately calming their citizens, the panic died down.
However, the situation remains unchanged…

Over the past decades, new countries started popping out here and there. Some old countries vanished from the map entirely and were replaced with new ones.
The country the boy is currently in is one of those.
It was a small country in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
Yes, it was a country built using extreme technology. A country built above the sea. Able to withstand storms and prevent tsunamis.
A country far removed from the chaotic land.
There are a bunch of other new countries built. However, those died down due to loss of resources or getting obliterated by enemy nations.
Of the hundred-plus original countries, half of it vanished. Some merged. And over a hundred new ones were built.
If you were to graph the number of countries over the past two decades, it would look similar to the fluctuation of the prices of oil. Dropping a few then rising way above the previous. A continuously increasing trend.
Every time a new war arises, the number goes down. Not long after, it will once again increase.
No matter how many died, the population continued to rise exponentially.
Just like how computer viruses multiply even if you delete one.
Due to the aftereffects of war, the life expectancy of humans became a lot shorter. If we are to talk about the ratio or age brackets around the globe currently, that would be like this:
Infant (0 – 2 years old) – 11%
Toddler (2 – 5 years old) – 14%
Children (5 – 12 years old) – 15%
Teen-Agers (12 – 20 years old) – 25%
Young Adults (20 – 30 years old) – 18%
Adults (30 above) – 17%
Like that.
Well… There's no point talking about this.
All that I want to say is that the ratio of child to adult is extremely large.
Of the over 7 billion population of the world, more than half of it was all children under 20.
And all these children desired one common thing, games.
There's no problem with the supply of games.
Due to the sudden boom of games several decades ago, there are enough games created for every child around the world to have 3 unique games each. Most were mobile games, more than half of the remaining for PC games, and the rest for console games.
However, after reaching the age of 8, they crave almost the same thing. Online Games.
This led to making the gaming industry the largest industry around the globe, especially Online Games.
Among these games, there is one name that can be said to be really famous.
It was a player that finished all his games to the end within a year, reaching the end game with an unbeatable record.
The player is known as Legend. The player that accomplishes the impossible.
The player that always chooses a class that uses swords even in a magic-oriented game.
His name in any game was the same… That is…
